What system is this for?
I've sat back and watched this like a real fight twice now. My dad (passed in 2018) once went on vacation in Cancun with my step mother and a couple of my sisters, while relaxing by the pool some (very inebriated) guy ran up at him, "OHHH MY GOD!! YOU'RE BUTTERBEAN!!" - after trying to no avail to convince him otherwise, my family assumed he was just being a troll. Though my dad legit did look like him, ngl. The random dude told my family he'd be right back and ran up into the hotel only to return 5 minutes later with an honest to God pair of boxing gloves. Apparently, he was such a boxing fan he was TRAVELING with them. My dad reluctantly signed them and took some pictures to let the guy have his moment, though never embraced the nickname from the rest of us XD

The refusal of EA to give us another Fight Night is astounding.
There is some indie game in development, it looks all right but forget about all the licenses. It's really a bummer because from all the EA sports games, FN is very very good.

The computer did a horrible job of simulating Ali's style
Ali had two styles. One before his suspension, and one when he came back...The game could have had two Ali’s that fought different. Because it had two George Forman’s.

Ali also changed up his style during fights and for specific fights he would make changes depending on who he was fighting. In his 3rd fight with Frazier, him and Frazier both switched up their styles and approach several times throughout. That is part of what made Ali so great, is that he could adapt so well.

I do this for fun regularly. Its not THAT hard if you pace yourself, still wont be easy though. Let the computer take the lead for the first 3 or 4 rounds while you dodge and preserve stamina, land a few jabs but dont go for the power shots etc. Start pilling the pressure on from the mid rounds and your punches will get through easier and the computer doesn't really adapt to your strategy. I also like using Liston and doing the same thing. Shame Champion didn't let us pick boxers from the lower weight categories to go up against the heavyweights like the earlier games did - That was a real challenge, using a lightweight to beat a heavyweight.

I've never seen him go 12 rounds in a fight. In all of his fights, MMA and boxing his strategy was to pin you into the ropes or a corner and then put all of his weight on you and beat you down with his hard punches. He's a very predictable fighter.

Same advice here than in your Roy Jones - Tyson fight :
In the early round just defense, very few punches, preserve your stamina. Then in the middle rounds, fight back and he could do nothing. Except flash KO who can happened sometimes, it's winning everytime EASILY even in hardest setting. Also, if late in the fight you're KD : Same strategy. You lost the round 10-8, just preserve your stamina again don't fight, let him do it, the next round will be easier.
If you do a rematch Little Mac - Tyson, PLEASE use this tactic, you will win. ^^

That was awesome !!! Never envisioned Butterbean fighting a smart, strategic fight but yea, he put forth a pretty valiant effort, especially with his tiny gas tank. Butterbean did a good job chopping away at Ali's body.

It's so hard to beat Ali in the final round. You can conserve your energy, fight a good fight, but most of the time I'm extremely tired and somehow he drops me.

Really just only throw a couple punches per round to the body and block and the opponents wear themselves out I had beaten everyone with Butterbean with in 5 rounds doing this not exciting or fun really but it works.
William Brinkmeier Same i was being a pussy for like 2 rounds blocking and only hitting body punches and then when muhammed ali’s staminia was wearing off then i start fighting with butterbean and got better at 3 and 4 then round 5 i knocked him out
Well Butterbean was known as king of the 4 rounders in real life and they pretty much adopted that here. Ali was a much better Athelete and in the days of 15 round champ fights. In real life Butterbean would never be able to drag Ali into late rounds and stop him and a decision is even more unlikely so it should be extremely hard in the game and it is.

Poor Bart Gunn.. He won by fighting like a street brawler wild unpredictable punches. then the butterbean fight was set. So he tried to learn how to box.. HUGE mistake, you aint gonna hold a candle your first week of boxing against someone thats already a pro. I think butterbean himself said "he MAY have got a lucky shot in had he just came out throwin wild punches. But he tried to box" lol. In the end all it did was end his career. Dude was set up to be the next tough guy in WWF at the time and they let him get knockedout and fired shortly after. Great guy that Vince....

Funny thing, Vice did a documentary about the Brawl for All and they didn’t want Bart to win at all. They wanted Dr. Death to win. Problem was the Brawl for All wasn’t scripted, so Bart won the matches legit. He was suppose to go against Stone Cold for winning but the bookers didn’t want that match. So WWE sent him to a boxing camp to make him focus on boxing technique, knowing that Butterbean was going to KO him. After that they pretty let him go for ruining Dr. Death.
They scripted him to lose to butter bean so before u think "he ruined his career "he didnt ... if anything he did all he could to elevate his career and wwe did what they always do .

Script was not needed here at all. i dont think a single person on the planet(including Bart) thought Gunn had any sort of shot. Everyone in the back knew what was gonna happen. I remember staying up all night playing this game with my friends years ago, what a game, thanks for the memories.
It’s so weird that fight night round 4 feels more intense and fluid than champion. Whenever you missed a big punch it felt like time froze and your heart would stop for a second and they would return with a huge ass counter that could put you down. Even when full health 😂 oh the good ole days.

I found round 4 easier to completely master. Once you master countering the challenge is effectively over. It was great while it lasted.
Round 4 looks like a bunch of love taps. I disagree. There's no impact behind the punches in that game and the movement is much more robotic.

It's crazy how this game plays. I originally played this in my 30s and always went for the quick KO online especially. As I got older I played more and more like you, patience is key!

It's really nice to see that people still play this game, I used to play this game religiously from 2011 through to 2015, not played it since. My online record was 1300 wins to 300 loses and on OWC I was the British Heavyweight, Middleweight and Lightweight campion concurrently, which was hard work because you needed to play 6 fights a day to keep your belt otherwise it'd be taken off you. So I had to play 18 games a day but it eventually just became too much and I let them go. Unfortunately though being good at online ruined the AI for me and I could beat them easy, which ruined career mode and that really sucked because it was so fun till I got better at blocking, Basically tap RT, or R2 if you're on PS, when you're opponent throws a punch and if you time it perfectly you'll block it without question and for some reason when you do this against AI it just starts flailing their arms at you till their stamina reaches 0. So you can just stand infront of them continously pressing RT and they'll keep throwing and then you knock them down with a punch. Rinse repeat till you win. The online though, man it was amazing, I still remember some of my best fights to this day!

Back in my Fight Night III playing days I used to impress my friends by knocking out Ali with Manny Pacquiao on hard mode. It was incredibly difficult, just a few combos from Ali and you're knocked out because of the weight class difference. I wish you could do that fight in FN Champion.

You gotta go in with body shots to get him to drop his hands, every time you go in your coming in with jabs at the head. Gotta learn the combos and have a plan on how and when your gonna use them. Nice video!

as real as this game seems its obvious how op they made Ali so many different times through the fight his stamina was entirely drained and still throws 5 to 6 shot combos and thats just literally not possible as the player
There is some basis for that. The most exhausted he ever was in the ring was the Thrilla in Manila. He was drained in the final round of the fight and started dancing and fighting like he did as a young man one more time. And in general, he had excellent conditioning. If he had nothing else, he had ridiculous stamina.
@@TerryTerius okay fair but my point was about the game and how just straight up the ai is able to do things you can not.... if your stamina bar is empty you cant throw and i just think its bs cause the game tries to be real but makes it so obvious that they basically break the games own rules to be more challenging....
