Love your videos! Bird calls, flowers, sharing what you see and not just pointing the camera at yourself, which is lovely but I watch for the vicarious pleasure of hiking through the woods. Keep it up!
I read about this incident and wondered if any of the hikers I've been following would talk about it. Glad you're hiking away from it, They ended up closing some portions of the trail due to it. Apparently they admittedly camped near or in the potential hazardous zone they weren't supposed to be in (with known aggressive bear activity).
If bears don't cease the moment on food, the rodents definitely will. Vigilance with cooking/food storage is paramount. Congrats on seeing the bunting! So cool you made it to Trail Days; love the new shirt and hat. 😊 Another lovely episode on a Saturday morning. Rest well TC ✌️ (TC could also be 'take care')
I really look forward to your updates. Thanks for sharing your joys, ups and downs, for inviting us into your world, and for spending time pointing out fauna and flora. Good luck with the next week!
Love watching your videos! It’s fun to learn about the flowers from you and I love seeing you balance both your social needs and your hiking needs. It seems like you’ve found a good balance. Also, I love that you sort your M&Ms by color - that’s the best way to eat them! 😄
On that wall, back in the day trees were more sparse, food was grown and cattle were kept on the land. The walls made from rocks pulled out of the farm land kept the cattle on the correct side of the mountain.
Just stumbled upon your videos. I love how you show the flora and fauna of the trail. That’s what I love most about hiking! Looks like you are having an amazing time.
Great up date this week! 😊. So glad those hikers got off that mountain safely!! Trail Days sounded like fun!! See you next week. Hike On & stay safe. 💪😊❤️🏕️🇺🇸🥾
Yes, Virginia is not flat, just less mountainous. Looks like you and the two girls have officially become thru hikers with the 3 hours of breaks on the trail. You're still smiling so it's all good. Glad you made Trail Daze. When you get to Pine Grove Furnace, checkout my cat in the museum. There is a small section about him. Hike safe, Hike strong, Have fun! geek
What is your take on hiking the AT so far.... you want to do this again already, or this is a one-time thing? Loved your answer about if you missed work yet 😊.
The entire AT may not be in my cards. I’m thoroughly enjoying thruhiking and could forsee more trips in the future. I’m loving this adventure out here, every day!
I watch a lot of videos where folks are making coffee and breakfast in the vestibule of their tent while in their quilt. One has to assume they slept with thier breakfast in their tent. I also noted that I was the only person at a shelter last year who hung a bear bag (at least that I saw, I could be wrong). I was just doing a weekend trip in the Whites, but everyone else was thru-hiking. So I've gotten to the place were I think most thru-hikers get casual and don't bother somewhere along the trail.
I've noticed people do get kind of slack at hanging their food bags especially in areas with no bear activity. As far as the breakfast in the vestibule in your sleeping bag, you go get your food bag while you're out peeing then snuggle back up and enjoy your food. It's that easy.
My assumption about folks cooking in their vestibule is that they go retrieve their food and then curl back up in their sleeping bag. My bear canister gets set away from all campers every night unless there is a bear box to utilize. My tramily members all hang their food every night. It’s a very important and responsible part of being an outdoor steward.

I heard a similar story. We were all safe and well out of the bears range very quickly.

Rock walls in the middle of a forest might be the location of an old farm that has grown over.
Very true!
I love your little chipmunk speedups
Been nice to see more from traildays...maybe @ the end.

You seem like you are in such a good place and so much at peace. That is a wonderful place to be.
Thank you so much!

During a town day, you should get a pedicure and foot massage! You definitely deserve it girl!!
What an adventure! Glad that you have a good group of hikers. Have a beautiful day 🌸🧡
Thank you!!

I loved that you read a few Priest Shelter entries ..that was cool BUT what did you WRITE ?
That was awesome! Haven't made it to Trail Days yet but I will eventually. It's always fun finally meeting people you follow or see in social media.
I highly recommend it! It was a great time.
Not sure if you guys get news updates, but aggressive bears on the AT made the news this past week! I was thinking about you and other hikers I watch.
We definitely heard the stories. To my knowledge, everyone is safe and the area has been well marked.
best line of video "I'm running for trail magic"
Good morning! How is your bear vault working out? Are you glad you made that decision instead of hanging? Thanks!
I’m loving my bear canister! Food storage is simple and quick. And I always have a stool!
you look SO RELAX in this video ...GREAT !!!
Good morning! Following your hike on the AY. What an adventure!
You said you were hiking with girls. Are you hiking with children?
No children in the group I’m hiking with.
17:33 mad calf muscles ..I guess 800 miles will do that

Bears in the woods, call 911. Smh.
That BEAR story sounds scary as hell
