Layering is such a life saver. I think it's the quickest way to being your music to the next level. Piano beats get bland after a while but swapping various elements out for other sounds will bring them back to life for sure.

Layering is a super powerful tool, also changing sounds with the same melodies can also vastly make your tracks more listenable and less repetitive

The best advice to hear whats needs to be placed is ear train to tones, melodies and rhythm and best of of all dont overthink which is why alot of people get beat block from thinking to hard on the sound or idea. Ive seen producers make 10 beats with in minutes it comes from not overthinking

12 year user of ableton live but lately certain aspects of FL Studio has intrigued my interest. The piano roll for one with all the music theory hacks and features is super intuitive. Any feed back on if I should grab the producer edition or the all plugins edition? On that note, keep on with the great content. This video format where we get to see you demonstrate certain things and why is very helpful. Bless to all the producers out there putting in that work🙏🏻💯🥇

Also what hes doing at 2:07 is called voice leading for those that don't know. Also it sounds smoother doing it this way not alot of jumps and the progression meshes together better

You’re so talented my man. I’m amazed by every single video. Question: how do you find good sounds that fit together? It seems so easy when you do it but whenever I try it just sounds mushy… also having trouble with my top line and counter melody :(
usually i will just pick a random sound and try and see what matches up, if they dont match up well but i like them both i eq them so they match up properly

yessir, pretty similar, i just break it up into sections, so a guitar will do topline, while 1 foes chords, etc
