    I tried VR for a short time. It seemed to be front heavy and took a toll on my neck. If you've ever seen an A-10 pilot enter the cockpit, you'll see their head after putting their helmet on shrink by four inches into their shoulders. That's how it felt to me. Before I ever go down that road again, I'll wait for a lighter setup when everything has moved forward in the VR industry. It was awesome! I could look outside the cockpit of a P-51 and other super props. Excellent SA in the AO. But it was just so heavy and that required more pressure on my neck than I could take for a long period of time. In a squadron you just can't bail out because your neck hurts. You won't be in it very long. The squadron that is. So I went the cheap way with an IR5. It's not as immersive the IR. At least I can fly and being a Helo pilot by nature for hours before my disability issues kick in. I think in the future that they will come out with one that's on the way that would be much lighter and more cost effective so everyone can have an opportunity to enjoy that type of experience. So the have nots can have.
    Love your tutorial and thank you for your vested time. Very thorough. Ty 🕊️

    I’ll be staying with my Varjo Aero until the next jump in tech, but for anyone on the fence, VR is an absolute game changer for flight simming and one you try it, it becomes the new minimum acceptable standard

    I’m so happy for vr, if not for it, I never would’ve gotten into DCS without it. When I found out about dcs I didn’t have a hotas, in fact, I didn’t even know they existed. THANKFULLY I had a quest 2 and even more so, ED makes most of their modules compatible with touch controls. There is simply no other experience quite like playing dcs in vr.

    VR is nice, I have the Quest 3. However, I am limited in my neck so I have to add my head tracker to keep from turning my head so far, so that does kind of kill some of the immersion. I'm still on the fence because it does take a few minutes to get everything tuned in and you do have to pull it all off to do anything, but it is fun. I still may get a bigger monitor as well just for those times when I don't want to bother. I did think about the Pimax as well and still may consider if my wife decides to take over the Quest 3. I do think VR is coming along nicely from what it was, so that's why I had to try it again and I had already updated my rig, so it ran well, with no issues. Thanks for the review!!

    I had 13900 with 4090. And I did really heat my room that could make my room like global warming with full max out in dcs. But the clarity is definitely something else. Whole other level. I came from. HP reverd g2 and this is really outstanding. I had to use honvr Len as they had the lowest distortion around the ages. I did have VR rocks but honvr is my final choice. With the dfr I getting average 90fps even as max setting.
    By the way how did u tune ur OBS to capture a nice 4k resolution. I failed at that.

    • @CaptianJoseph
      @CaptianJoseph 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@B0bik thanks for the tips, indeed if there is no air Conditioner on in my room my head gets over heated quickly.
      The thing is the Headset is too darn heavy and much of its weight is disbursed around my nose because of my high nose bridge. I don't think they factored in that many people don't have the same nose shape.
      They need to make some improvements around nose with their headsets, the current design is not ergonomically appealing or comfortable to everyone. I wouldn't mind a 3D scan and fabrication of custom parts before buying.

    I can't get over the size of the thing ... and the fact that it's tethered and still requires a battery? I wish they would make a "sim" version that ditches all the stand-alone crap that many simmers will never use, and hopefully that would make the need for a battery moot.

    • @nemisis_wolf

Maybe you could print out a full size face of Natasha's face over the front of the head set so we see her face not yours. You may have the Voice but She has the Face we all want to see. Good Video.

    I’m using VR for sim flying since OculusCV-1. Used to own almost all headsets on the market. Pimax 8kx and Crystal have very bad lens correction profiles. Not everyone able to see or understand that, but, if you can see those distortions Pimax is not for you. I’m against the hype around this headset. Ignoring basic rules of VR when other manufacturers are respect them, it’s a bad sign for me.

    • @hipgames
      @hipgames  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Very bad lens correctio for what? Can you explain a bit what was your experience with the Crystal and its lenses? Made me curious 🤔

    • @justflyit7569
      @justflyit7569 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@hipgames Well. Where to start. Every single headset does have lenses (pancake, aspheric or any other) the main purpose of them is to collect light coming from displays and redirect it to human retina. This light gathering and redirecting does have cones, it produces distortion meaning that geometrical shapes are subject to change. So you have to send image to the screen (display) “backwards distorted”, to make sure that after the lense passing it will reach someone’s eye brining the image with right geometrical shape (without distortion). In VR it’s not allowed to have any fish eye effect or something similar it’s not a flat screen where you may play with that trying to reach higher field of view. So Pimax Crystal has those distortions if you’re looking not just straight in front of you. You can see that the cockpit changes it’s form a little when you’re moving your head around. Every single VR manufacture (beside the Varjo) is aware of this and try to avoid such a thing. Because it may cause nausea and overall bad experiences. Pimax is not one of them, which is unfortunate. People who are not that picky or wear glasses or contact lenses normally are not bothered by that, because theirs brain has adopted to similar things by everyday encounters.

    • @hipgames
      @hipgames  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wow! Thanks for the explanation and I get it, makes sense indeed. I can only say that luckly no nausea effect here but I do imagine it can be a thing. I had some friends over back in the day with my samsung odyssey and the bucket was used 😂 Well one thing is for sure, a very important factor for the industry to move on and tend to the need of the consumer. I still wait to have simple eye glasses and get transported in the Virtual Reality. That may happen sooner that we think. Cheers ☺️

    NOICE!
    ps. I feel compelled to share the reason why I post the same COMMENT to each video posted to this channel. Some may think I'm being lazy or sarcastic but neither ae remotely close to being WHY. I assure everyone I have considered posting a different Comment but I am reminded too often by my wife (she's Russian so I do not argue)...I am still a WIP... So, I refrain from expounding for the time being. Even so, rest assured I will not hesitate to post an original comment when I find the right words that would be applicable and or would be deemed as value-added instead of nonsensical gibberish (such as this). Regardless, I am confident I will find what I am looking for at some point, ... INN-DAAA-FUUU-CHURRR... Until then, I sincerely hope the following old adage will provide clarity for my decision to do so:, "...Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness..."... Applying this context along with my inability to properly articulate my appreciation & gratitude for the exceptional cinematics, graphics, insight, and information accompanied by a superb script and professionally delivered ON-THE-SPOT elevates this presentation into a Masterpiece. Therefore, hijacking one of your catchphrases as my consistent Comment is done because no other word(s) expresses the aforementioned as accurately and concisely as the one I post in the Comment section to almost every video posted. In short, there is only one word that encapsulates these presentations....Simply stated, ... NOICE!
    As the late, great Paul Harvey would say, "...and...NOW...YOU KNOW...the REST of the story."
