You say that, but all this guy ever does is spam all of his runic attacks which requires zero skill, and after that he parries and counters and gets a few attacks in here and there. Yes he's obviously a good player but this combat system is not as deep as you think it is. It could've been though.

I hate referring to videos, but Matthewmatosis pumped out an excellent critique of God Of War. I think he's 100% right in this case. Lots of missed potential, weird or stupid design decisions, and caving in to current "design" trends. The combat system and game in general could've been so much better. As it is now, it's of course fun and a good game, but it left a sour taste in my mouth. A sense of missed potential.
@Verix A title says nothing. The game is definitely a good game and out of all the major triple A games in 2018, yes I would say it deserves GOTY. However it has so much missed potential. I usually hate recommending videos to get a point across, but in this case I think Matthewmatosis did a fantastic job with his "God Of War Case Study" video. Watch that one. He explains my opinion in a concise and intelligent fashion.

@@ActiveSufi not when the game is on easy mode. Its honestly really easy espeically since he has the best armor at the time. Thats like not losing health in the beginning tutorial when you first try to get use to tue controls.

actually he's play on give me god of war, why? because on the sigrun fight when does the "I'LL CRACK YOUR NECK WITH STILLETTO" or "VALLAHA" She releases a meteor attack as a decoy then lands.
@ He's just overleveled for the difficulty. If you look you can see most of the Valkyries have a green health bar, which means he's at least lvl 9, maybe level 10. Which makes the Valkyries MUCH easier, even on GMGoW. They will still one shot you with most of their attacks tho if you're a glass cannon runic build like he is.

MVPxD Gaming as a fan of both channels, I’d still say SMVR is a bit better than GBG. Better at playing the game like how it’s intended to be played. Game breaker does find some cool glitches and loopholes tho.
Everyone has their preference on who's 'better' and that's ok. My comment was directed to the 'most dedicated one for sure' part of your comment. Obviously, GBG is just as or more depending on how you look at it and he actually does breakdown videos of his combos and play-style which adds more value in my opinion. Smvr plays the 'mystique' card which works for him/her as the channel to date has reached 2.56M views to GBG's 461k and even more impressive this channel is exactly 3 months old. I'm a conspiracy theorist and I was wondering if both are one in the same but the styles are so different it would be hard (not impossible) to be indistinguishable.
MVPxD Gaming cool, cool. You’ve made good points, and I respect your opinion. I think SMVR pumps out about two or three times more videos than GbG does. That’s why I think he’s pretty darn dedicated. Yeah GBG’s commentary is a nice effort but it’s all preference. I actually prefer this channel’s way. Good quality vid with what you need to know in the description lol. I don’t think he’s that mystique since he usually replies to comments. As players tho, they both are very good at what they do. I’ve learned a lot of little skills from them. It’s normal to prefer either of them. That would be the biggest plot twist if they were indeed the same people lol.

Also he has GMGOW shield. Also I play on GM Story diffuculty. Sigrun's bar was Purple until I upgrade my gear.

im assuming youre new to the valks when u made this comment, first off the moves he did was pretty basic, i only have 100 or less hours in the game yet i can already do better and second hes playing on easy mode judging from the health bar of the boss (green means easy, purple means gmgow) hence the answer to your question: “How the hell someone can give you a thumb down?” is most likely cause he lies to his viewers and the praise hes getting for doing basic stuff is overrated. I mean no hate towards the channel but i really hope i see less of channels like this and more of channels like game breaker god where using the word “AMAZING” actually becomes valid

@@zzzrrv Dude... the colour of the health bar is the difficulty of the individual fight. Which depends on your level, not on the difficulty of the game.

I'm very skeptical about whether or not you're actually playing on Give Me God of War mode with how much damage you're doing, but you've definitely got their movements down to a science. All in all, I'm thoroughly entertained. 👍
This dude is a legend! I felt this was impossible until, well, today
I've done all the Valkyries and if you defeat them, you will eventually learn ways to counter their attacks especially on GMGOW. I notice you use some creative ways of breaking them. I've learned other ways and I can tell that there was a boatload of experimentation, trial and error and refinement in your mastery. Great work, you make it look easy with the runic build. While it is powerful in damage, it is NOT easy to land that heavy Blades runic. I imagine that's why you use the light Leviathan runic right before you switch to use the heavy Blades runic. Bravo, absolutely bravo.

Literally fought 3 hours to beat sigrun in normal mode and this guy mopped every valkyrie in 18 mins in hardest mode, ffs!
This is not the hardest difficulty, you can tell by the color of the health bars
Or u can tell by the level of draugrs summoned by Kara. They should be min level 7 but they were level 4. 🤔🤔

Eir is keep kicking my ass. I don’t have as powerful attacks as this guy and more over her health bar is purple.
The healthbars color says your own level is lower than your enemys. Level up your gear, if it bothers you. I found her one of the hardest as well. Try to throw your axe on her every time she seems to start an attack from above because that stops it, then punch her face for trying the air attacks again😉

I'm not sure how I'd go about making a tutorial on combat, but i'll consider it! I think the basics are fundamental in learning fluid combat; knowing when to attack, block, evade + the time it takes to recover from r1 or r2 with both weapons. You learn much more playing the game than watching imo

To add onto SmvR's comment, i would suggest turning immersive mode on and trying (GMGOW) it makes you respect the enemies more, also gives you a better perspective of when to sidestep and when to dodge roll and in which direction, well i noticed a difference myself personelly, your less likely to soley rely on Runic attacks to win fights that's for sure. always worth a try anyway.
don't try to rush in or panic when you see the boss HP is low... that's one mistake most people make
