This original in French I really love. She wrote the lyrics. She said she finds Russian language hardest to sing in ( I guess since Romanic languages are her forte) and it shows. But Lara being Lara she wants to show respect for her audiance and singing in their language is sign of respect for her. PS Yes I want her outfit too :)

For some reason, I always compare the 2 singers: Lara & Celine, maybe because they're both from the same province of Quebec & both are good singers...but Lara is my fave eversince.

I am a fan since 2001 and for me she is the best vocalist in pop music. If i was condemned to listen to one piece of a song for all eternity, it would be her Adagio forever in loop.
It is very rare Lara to lip sync but there she was not at home. And she does it well. Lebedy is the Russian version of this song and it was also lipsync'ed.

The thing that intrigues me - a contralto daughter of a trained basso contralto - most about her voice is that she is the ONLY soprano who doesn't hit my aural net like a knife. She's velvet, even at G5. I don't even understand it. 🤷🏻♀️
Her upper registers sound like they have a bubble around them. I'm thinking her placement up there is less nasal and more open.
Yes. I don't understand it either. While I think Whitney Houston is the greatest belter, largely because of her power, her voice can sound very metallic. I think Lara's wider range of songs allow her to show her pure consistent tone over all her range. As a "complete" singer, I would place Lara above virtually all singers I have ever heard.

How great it must be to be Igor. He gets to compose and play with Lara and Dimash. Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever heard her sing this high before. Her voice still sounds smooth even when she belts. This is what separates her from Barbra Streisand ( although Barbra is my favorite singer of all time) , Celine Dion etc. The lyrics are similar to the Tired Swan lyrics. Russian is of course much more difficult for a Western European to learn. I’m from Belgium and could sing in French, German, Italian, Spanish etc., because we grew up listening to music from all these different countries, we got exposed to them. Russian music, not so much

I do love that concert, with all my heart, her performance it is one at million there, no doubts, but, in 30 years of singing, and singing, and singing she have a lot of amazing performances too! A lot of concerts, a lot of showcases that are candies for the ears and soul xx

Let’s not forget that 1998 concert in Brussels “at home”. There’s a somehow crappy video of the whole show. But she was mind blowing. Vocally, her presence/sensuality on stage. Wow!
