New subscriber here, live in Southside of Brisbane, have a few acres up near Mt Mee which is a 2 hour drive from home, we have red deer roaming through the area and intend to get some goats, chickens etc.
Love your content, I've been thinking along the same lines for over 30 years, without water and food security people in the cities are super vulnerable.
    Keep up the good work.

Awesome mate, top little setup you have there, you have everything you need plus more.
How good is bush living, I wake up every day and pinch myself to make sure it’s real, I think I walk around with a permanent smile on my face nowadays, I don’t get bored doing nothing anymore.
You need to convert that liquor shelf to all home brewed/distilled beverages to keep with the theme of everything else.
IBC shower cubicle is a cool idea.
Love the cheeky boob flash from Tory, that’s the kind of thing my wife does to me, good times 😁

Don't insulate the inside, insulate the outside and put an outer wall and peak the roof to catch water, I live in a 40' hicube container, I catch and kill my power and water, the best part is NO BILLS, all my appliances are 12 volt camping stuff like you have, and lighting is all LED truck lights

Wow man you look so chilled now ,love ,friendship, freedom ,nature ,self made home, you are a very lucky man.enjoy and keep sharing, thank you. Shipping container insulation, google foilboard ,I've used it for my containers ,and is easy to install ,bit expensive though.but it works ,I also have roof vents ,hope that helps.

Great set up guys. Well done I say. Unfortunately in my area we can’t do this. Shire just won’t allow wkenders these days. A few large bush blocks down river way on the market but no permits ever on these for living but there’s houses on nxt properties….just ain’t right in my opinion. We should be able to live simply especially in these times but we all know why they won’t allow it tho!!!

We are gradually preparing for the grid to go down permanently. 24v systems are way more efficient especially when getting power into the system. The higher the voltage, the more efficient. 24v is easy to implement because many things like Outback fridges will run fine on it without inverters. Inverters are not very efficient and if you run a fridge on them and then on dc you will see it go from dc 500wh to 800/900wh. 24v can be stepped down to 12v very cheaply. A good water system is essential and we are able to pump from a well on a dc system.

Because internal space of a container is at a premium. I used 4 (3 x 1 inch) stringers on each wall and the ceiling to attach 6 mm ply for the top and plasterboard or fibro for the walls. I countersunk Tek screws the depth of the head onto the high edges of the container. Allows for running wiring internally. Insulation is handled externally. I used cob eventually. Best insulator and fire proof

Is your cob mixture 1/3 clay, 1/3 straw and 1/3 sand? And how do you get your clay?

Love it. Simplicity is key. With simplicity is little stress if something breaks, fix it yourself (the feeling of not relying on others for you to thrive is something you don’t realise how good it is until you are living it).If your power system does everything you need it to do don’t change it. Are there “better & bigger” electrical systems, sure there is but the expense is far greater. We started in a bus, moving to half our shed when we converted it. Finally moving into house. Should have stayed in the shed. The increase in “happy” from bus to shed was greater than increase in happy from shed to house. Great video, took me straight back to living in our off grid shed. Keep it up 👍🏻

Cool to find this. My wife and I live off grid in the upper Murry on 12 acers surrounded by dairy farm and backing onto Victoria largest forests. We didn't do it to save the world but a better quieter lifestyle because she isnt too well. I hunt venison for meat. grow vegetables and have a few head and of cattle. So i believe i can survive if the supermarkets go down. We have a tiny home and a 12kw solar system. In winter tho we do use about 50l Diesel for the generator usually to dry clothes becyit gets abit hard when its minus 6 . Looking forward to going though the rest of your videos. Thanks.... forgot to mention were not actually allowed to live here because we haven't gone though the hoops and paid council there 60-80k just to let us build. But um prepared to go to prison for living on my own land that I owe nothing on.

Keep an eye on the output voltage on those Kings charge controllers. Your one's are probably fine but they have been know (in the past) to run a too higher charge voltage and can cook batteries.

Hi if that system suits your needs that’s good the only problem with agm batteries you can only run them down half way so 340 amps is only 170 of full amp hours I hav a 5th wheeler for off grid camping it got 1130 watts of solar 2solar controllers 600 amps of lithium a 2000 watt inverter and a LG inverter fridge 240volt which is on 24/7 and a LG inverter microwave and TV everything not a problem with power it’s all victron gear to run it all and I used to have a generator but never used it so I don’t need it anymore a gas stove but I can use a electric kettle and toaster and with lithium it can run down to 20 percent off the battery but never get any thing near that just a thought cheers
