Blinding speed. Phenomenal playing. I like the later "65 Carnegie comeback even better. A tad slower , it has even more gravitas and beauty for me.
Horowitz as usual is amazing , I can not fathom his playing it is beyond normal heights and touches the soul .

The first movement: lacks subtlety. He is hammering the strings and using too much pedal. It is not a graceful piece but he is playing it like a stampede of Bison running over the keys.
An unbelievably pompous critique Fred.
