This is so old now omg guys...but anyway I posted this so long ago and I wanna post it again in case anyone wants to know, Vocaloid obviously has it's music open up to interpretation but back in the day a commonly accepted theory about this song was about a princess who was extremely depressed and kept locked in her castle. She falls in love with a boy who she sees constantly walk by the window, and they begin to talk through the window and the more time progresses she wants to leave even more, becoming more depressed. Eventually one day, she runs away with him and believes he has feelings for her but he doesn't. He loves another girl, and within weeks she is found and locked back inside the castle and the boy is not around to help her run. A few days later when he walks by and she's still in pain and so lonesome, she sees him but far away. She tries to get his attention through the window, but he's walking with the girl. Desperately wanting to interact with him, she leans out the window but slips and falls and dies. Though now that I think of this story, I think suicide would be a sadder but more fitting part then her falling out the window.

As I listen to this song I consistently wait for it to hit some sort of climax of guitar and drums, and around 2:00 it very faintly picks up a little bit, but never quite to what I feel like it could... Even when I didn't know the lyrics to this song, I always imagined miku standing in a field full of dead leaves, holding her chest and sobbing while singing this. I came back to this song years later and it's still nostalgic and hauntingly beautiful as ever. The fact that Vocaloids are synthesizers and not real people somehow makes this song even more sadder because it's like Miku's singing to us and desperately looking for a prince in the real world to make her dreams come true. 😭

This song was much more popular when I was in High School! About 10 years ago-ish. Now I would consider it a forgotten gem as Project Sekai has taken Vocaloid in an extremely commercial direction, barring off songs like this for new fans to find as they tend to just listen to PJSK and Project Diva songs.

I remember this being one of the first, if not the first, songs of Miku I've ever heard back when I was like 10 or something. I'd heard it in my dsi, in a flip note, (back when flipnote hatena was still a thing and still up and working :( ). And thus began my liking to Miku songs and overall vocaloid, eventually having a favorite vocaloid (it's Len Kagamine) and song, to hearing the most absurd to the most dark to the most cheerful of songs. This song was much more popular when I was in High School! About 10 years ago-ish. Now I would consider it a forgotten gem as Project Sekai has taken Vocaloid in an extremely commercial direction, barring off songs like this for new fans to find as they tend to just listen to PJSK and Project Diva songs.
It's an old song and this genre of stuff isn't that popular in the community anymore unfortunately. I agree with the previous reply that PJS has made Vocaloid way more commercial.

He had had to cancel his trip entirely, you know. I felt horrible, but he insisted that he had never wanted to go in the first place. It was a good thing he stayed, given the letter I had received. Someone died on that trip. It was a petty squabble that got out of hand. Four or five were injured, only one was dead.

Every morning only one would momentarily forget her husband's demise, and make enough food for the both of them.
Only one would have to remind herself every morning that half of her was missing forever. Forcibly taken and shattered to pieces, completely beyond repair. She would let out a wail every morning and she would ask herself why God had been so cruel to her, so cruel that She took her husband away.
That woman was not me, and would never be me. My prince was perfect. Impossible to damage. Loyal until the end of time. He would never die before me, would he?

I remember this being one of the first, if not the first, songs of Miku I've ever heard back when I was like 10 or something. I'd heard it in my dsi, in a flip note, (back when flipnote hatena was still a thing and still up and working :( ). And thus began my liking to Miku songs and overall vocaloid, eventually having a favorite vocaloid (it's Len Kagamine) and song, to hearing the most absurd to the most dark to the most cheerful of songs. Hearing it again once in a while reminds me of those simpler happier times, and fills my heart with nostalgia.
