    Best tipp: money isnt anything. After a nice and heavy burnout with 29...I realized exactly that. Friends, time for myself...work isnt anything. If you do it for your own...maybe...but for a design agency that makes thousands of euros and doesnt pays you back for all the time you invest? Nope...thanks! Keep up the good work and awesome videos mate. Greetings from germany, Sebastian

    I wake up four hours before work, enjoy a cigar during mediation, workout at least 8 hours a week, hardly on social media now-a-days, cooking healthy at least 4 days a week and talking to people face-to-face everyday. I am a college student and full time employee as well. Lemme say, everything you say is on point. I'm 31 years old but I look 21. I have no health conditions and I tell all of my friends/coworkers to take their time. Rushing and stressing out will age you, quick. Slow, steady and accurate, as I always say.

    All good, easy advise. One thing I have done is NO SODA! The other most important thing I do everyday, is wake up early 6:30! Then, wonder to the porch, have two cups of coffee and focus on the weather, nature and then, think about what I have to do today and how I will approach or manage it. One thing I have learned, is that worrying does not change anything. Not the past, not the present and not the future. So, LET THAT SHIT IT GO! Love all your videos. Keep it going.

I'm about to go into community college after finishing high school and am just know acknowledging how unhealthy I've become and how it has affected my mood and mental state in a negative way. Definitely going to spend the rest of the year getting into a healthier rhythm and bettering myself physically.

    Wow finally a video of this sort but with some real “real life” tips. I 100% agree with everything you said, especially the part about social media. A few years ago after watching an interview about a book called “Present Shock” i drastically changed the way i interact with my phone and now i feel way better. Don’t get me wrong, i still use it for work and i mess around with it. But now i don’t feel the urge of constantly checking every single notification. Sometimes i even forget it inside my jacket and i realize that 2-3 hours later!
    Anyway, great video and great tips!

    Something else I’ve found that’s important at least for me. Do something productive outside of daily work/chores. Have a hobby basically. I’m 19 still color in coloring books it helps with brain activity it’s calming it’s satisfying. Find what’s fun and if you’re lucky crosses off something else on you list. I’d go roller skating for hours cause it was fun and it was my workout.

    Perfect advice. Ive been doing all and I would like to add waking up early and meditate facing the rising sun. Get some of the light on you. Its a nice feeling and I dont know why.
    No soda and no white rice and white bread. Stay away from fried food. Take a spoon of apple cider vinegar before and after waking up.
    Its been good for me.

  • @julian-fricker
    @julian-fricker 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the video, I'd like to expand on a couple of things you mentioned.
    Be Thankful - it's a very good way to combat negativity but for some people may not be enough. I've been through lots of therapy but the only 1 which worked for me was CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). Being Thankful is one small piece of this therapy, I'd suggest people struggling with life take a look at it.
    Replace Sugar - I think you need to be careful with this as myself and my son have had huge problems due to sugar replacements. For 2 years I was unable to train as every time I went to the gym I would have a migraine. I used to get visual migraines where I would go almost blind. My son went to a new school and started having headaches which were diagnosed as migraines, he was 11 years old. By luck we managed to work out that we were both being triggered by Sucralose, they were in the drinks he was having at his new school and in the low calorie hydration drink I was drinking whenever I went to the gym. We're now finding out that more and more products are replacing sugar with sucralose even if they aren't diet versions.
    Again, thanks for the video. I'm really enjoying your content as a lot of what you're doing matches what I'm up to. Unfortunately the biggest difference is that I live in a very wet Wales where going outside does not guarantee vitamin D.

    This was the best video I've seen from you. Informative, not preachy at all, and damn accurate. Our children do not drink soft drinks. No soda, nothing with sugar, Equal, Splenda, because I'm sure the artificial sweetners, in 25 years will turn out to be cause of the third eye you grew. We have limited their sugar intake from 2 years old. They have been psychologically conditioned to always choose water over anything else.. DONT JUDGE! We had a full gym built in our co-op 8 years ago. Sound proofed. Weights, an endless pool, rings, bench, Nautilus tread and recumbant, 2 spin cycles, a bunch of other shit, it took a month. I had it built for my Aikido Katas and strength training, and my lovies Yoga, which is distracting and I avoid gym when shes in there before she does one of those invert split things and lose control of a bar and drop it on my chest.. But I've begun instructing the tiny people in the Budo, so theyve become accustomed to gym.

      @JeremySiers  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks glad you liked the vid! That gym sounds awesome!! Can I come work out, lol. Yoga is great to, keeps ya flexible and great for your core and balance. I agree though, it is hard to concentrate while attractive girls are practicing though 😂. Great to get the kids in the gym young. Get those habits and foundations set with them early and they’ll have them for their whole lives!! 👍🏻👍🏻💪🏻🏋🏼‍♀️

    While you've given some great advices here, the nutrition part has two notions I find somewhat outdated.
    Hunger and thirst are there for good reason. You do not require more liquids than your body is telling you to consume. Failing to correctly interpret what your body is telling you is what usually causes problems. Like confusing thirst with hunger. If you feel like grabbing a bite, just drink half a tall glass of water instead. If you are still hungry in 5 minutes, eat something. Even so, I rarely drink more than 0.3 gallons a day.
    Also for every study that claims sugar is bad, there is another, more recent study that says sweeteners cause a higher risk of heart disease than sugar, while not contributing to weight loss at all. No other cons, just these two I mentioned. Sugar is bad for many reasons, but is sweetener a healthy alternative? No, not really. Just ditch the sweeteners and train your body to enjoy the natural sugar content and flavors of food more. I did it, everything tasted horrible without added sugar for several days, but then I started enjoying my food again and didn't miss the added sugar one bit. Coffee had a richer taste, tea had more aroma, milk straight out of the carton tasted sweet and spices in food were more intense. Sweetness is overpowering other flavors.

I agreed with so much of what you had to say from putting your phone away while with friends, or drinking more water, and my fav is waking up early. This is one my friends don’t understand but I try to wake up early each day. Nothing better than a relaxing morning walk before all the traffic and before checking my phone. I switched to water only a few months ago, it only take a couple days then your body is used to it as your beverage of choice and your soda cravings will go away. The saying I recall was that, "you can go 3 minutes without breathing, 3 days without drinking and 30 days without food," but I never want to test those limits. I know from what I learned in the military that what you need to drink depends on how well hydrated you were at the start, your particular metabolism, and how active you are (how much you are sweating) but you can generally expect to go about 3 days without water, but you will probably become incapacitated before the full three days is up and need medical care (an IV of saline solution) to recover from the situation. We had this one guy that became dehydrated after only a bout three or four hours of constant movement in a walk we took, and he drank all the water he was carrying, but we could tell he wasn't all there when he started staggering around and couldn't even say his own name. Drink Water.

    Amen Brother... I really try to do all of these points every day, but my back has some slipped/herniated discs so I'm on strong pain medication that makes me hit the snooze button on life, but I'm really trying super hard to train so I can get the pain to go away, but it is a really slow process, and some days I can't even get out of bed... This is really putting my mental health to the test, but I have a goal when we reach September I will try to be pain-free from just training and eating right. If it doesn't work, maybe I need an operation? What do you say, Jeremy, do you think I have a chance of reaching my goal?

    • @JeremySiers
      @JeremySiers  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Back problems are tough. Goals are great to have though. The important thing is to keep trying and don’t give up. A lot of times getting in better shape, losing some weight and strengthening your core can do a lot to relive back pain. So definitely try to do what you can before turning to surgery. Yoga can also be great for back issues. Helps with that core strength and flexibility. But sometimes surgery is needed. Just depends on the situation. Keep your chin up and keep at it!! Good luck brother!! 💪🏻👍🏻

    I feel, for me, it's so hard to find the motivation to exercise. I work construction and am outside all-day. Some days are labor intensive, some are not. But after a long day of work it's so hard to get to the gym, ride my bike or get my heart rate pumping. My wife has that office job you were talking about and for her as well it's hard to get out after a long day of office work. It always seems like we get home and flop down on the couch or our chairs and start binge watching some new TV show or something of that sort. Thought I'd ask y'all real people on ways to try and get more active. Mind you, I've never been in great shape but I have been skinnier and more healthy. I'm not the heaviest I've ever been but I'm slowly getting up there. Thought I'd ask for some good advice
