    Huawei seems to be the most consistent one throughout all scenarios. Might not be the best in every situation, but definitely most reliable. Xiaomi, on the other hand, is a very confused piece of tech, not knowing what it wants to do most of the time.

      That's always the case with Xiaomi.
      Honestly that's what is disappointing me the most about them.. Look at the mi11u compared to the competition the hardware of the camera is still top notch but it was already beaten when it came out by an s22u for example. Xiaomi has so much potential in their phones but they don't use this potential.
      Samsung for example is really consistent and that's why is told to be the "best" android camera. Point and shoot and you have a decent result. Do this with Xiaomi and I wish you good luck!

    Super objective comparison and another high quality piece of content on this channel.
    For me all three phones are overall very close. I think it comes down to which features a given user would cherish the most.
    Gotta say I'm super impressed by the main camera on Huawei which can capture more details despite having sensor that has *41% of area of a 1 inch sensor* (assuming the same proportions of the sensors and if I calculate correctly: (1/1.56)^2 = 0.41 vs (1/1)^2 = 1 )
    Personally, I'd wait to see if Xiaomi upgrades their software (as usual), or even better - if the phone gets popular enough so that it gets some GCam ports from the community ;)

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Thanks fir the comment. yes the Huawei team knows how to optimise a sensor that's smaller. Look at the shot of the Coke glass for example and other low light shots. I'm sure these 1-inch IMX989 sensors with the best optics and software optimisation could be the obsolete best. So of the Vivo shots were great but inconsistent and sometimes over exposued. With some tweaks both the Xiaomi and Vivo could be even better.
      I'm really keen to see what the S23 Ultra will bring with their optimisation's experience it will be good to compare the X90 Pro+ Mate 50 pro vs S23 Ultra later this year. Pixel 7 Pro also should be in there.

    Either something happened to the Xiaomi 13 Pro between yours and Han's Tech Talk or Gizmochina's camera reviews or they updated the phone, cause most of the time I prefer the Xiaomi's shot the most. Even night videos seems to be a bit smoother and less jitter compared to the other two. Also I do feel the Xiaomi has the slightly clearer mic, but I'm on phone speakers so it's probably just me. Pictures at night less clear on Xiaomi and the rest definitely ahead. I probably like the style of Xiaomi but realistically the other 2 are better in stills. Still great camera phones from all of these. Can't wait to see what the Xiaomi Ultra will bring.

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It has an update, that was also covering the camera so it will be that. Xiaomi mics are so and now with wind noise even with no wind just move and you get terrible wind noise. The Xiaomi 13S Ultra or 13 Ultra will be a real beast I feel, everything thrown at it. I just hope it gets a global release.

    • @joelconolly5574
      @joelconolly5574 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Techtablets Hope so too. The mid siblings offering always seems to be mistreated in the smartphone market, especially from Samsung. Although decent it's not like a step down version of their flagships, but more like a 2nd option. Still hoping for better camera updates on Xiaomi because going for true point and shoot without high levels of computational photography prowess won't help it sell well. Especially in their asking price. Still a good strong standing from Xiaomi, if you don't look closer that is.

    @KellyWong-ck2oo ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Keep in mind that on Xiaomi 13 pro the Leica Authentic color profile does not use computational photography (it's just one shot image), to activate the computational photography function, you must use Leica Vibrant color profile (which will bring forth auto multi-shot HDR). Scraping is a good description. You can really feel how sanctions have hurt Huawei. The 40 had a huge 1/1.5" ultrawide, this one is just 1/3rd inch, which is why the night sky was rubbish. The main is smaller than the 40's, too, which is why it isn't as naturally sharp as the Vivo... the X90 seems to have the same output as the X80 in terms of hair/fur rendition, and that was as good as the Mate 40.
    But that new Tele is great. Both Huawei and Vivo use the same half inch Tele, and while the short length makes them rubbish for long distance, they're great for portraits.

    Xiaomi's sound is so good! Huawei's sounds slightly muffled probably because of a little too much noise reduction. Vivo's has no bass and the highs aren't tight neither.

    My opinion may not be very objective but neither is the review... If you want to test the HDR quality Xiaomi 13 Pro or all phones with Leica modes inside you know that you have to switch from the Authentic Mode which reflects more the visual reality human (Leica wanted it like this close to a DSLR photo) than the Vibrant Mode of Leica that optimizes HDR and unlockss shadows. The example of the photo with the bay window on the left is striking. Every photophone should be used with the ideal setting in every condition, but too much workload I guess... The whole question is there... It's all about what the reviewers want to say, the good or the bad, about these photophones they manage... Welldone !

    In the night shots, the Huawei seems to retain the best details. Very good sharpness. Bad judder for the Vivo in the night video, unfortunately. Hope they can fix that with a software update. So far the phone I like the most is the Vivo X90 Pro+, but it has still some little issues that must be addressed.

    I thought Mate 50 pro suffers with rolling shutter effect the most, that jello effect is so evident. Also, Xiaomi 13 pro had minor glitches while panning, but they are not as bad as other 2 phones.

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      And the X90 Pro had the judder really bad with low light video. All 3 had average video with minor issues, an iPhone 14 Pro is better than them at video but not at stills.

    that vivo 90 is another lever in low lights

  • @michaelk6957
    @michaelk6957 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think that Vivo pulls ahead in most scenarios because the colors are more accurate in both day and night photos. Also HDR looks better, indoor shots look better and video stabilization and jitter looks better on Vivo.
    Vivo in night video looked the sharpest and brightest also. Huawei has issues with colors. Specially in night mode everything has this yellow orange hue because of the ryyb sensor. They never fixed that issue.
    Xiaomi generally was the most unstable and was lacking in most scenarios except for portrait and the macro.
    So Vivo is a clear winner for me. Thank you for the great comparison as always!
