You are so right! Don’t know how people can’t believe in God with all this beauty surrounding them! No wonder the good Lord rested on the 7th day;) Beautiful harmonies. WOW 😮 Great reaction 🎉 I love Hone Free😊
I'm a believer. I have heard this song numerous times by home free. I still have tears of joy.... And hope ....and a better life beyond where I am now. Well done. I applaud you're faith .
Tim said in an interview that while they were in Austria for an a cappella festival, they saw the beauty of the mountains, and knew that’s where they needed to film this video. He said they contacted their film crew, who flew out the next day. Totally worth it!
All their Christmas music is wonderful. (Well, pretty much all of their music is wonderful.) Much of it recorded in a church. "O', Holy Night." is my particular favorite.
This hymn is actually a Swedish hymn from the beginning. It was brought over to the US by immigrants in the beginning of the 1900-s. The lyrics are very close to the Swedish original.
Amazing Grace by Pentatonix is also a stunning song, I love the one with Peter Hollens too. Between Kirsten and Kevin I was a puddle of tears 😭. I've heard this song all my life ( 71) and I've never heard it covered by anyone better.
There's a live version of this song you might want to watch called "Home Free Kearny". A concert was cancelled due to a thunderstorm and audience members had gone to a shelter. They didn't want to disappoint their audience so Home Free walked through the rain, stood on a picnic table and without benefit of mics, amps, etc., accompanied by thunder, lightning and flickering lights sang How Great Thou Art. It's just amazing.
This is one of my favorites by Home Free! It always give chills!! on my playlist. One of my other favorites it their version of Do You Hear What I Hear. It was arranged by Adam Rupp (beatboxer) and is one of their first videos after the Sing off win. It is fabulous!! At one point they do a 5 octave progression that is amazing. Strongly recommend! Thanks for your reaction. much appreciation!
I am not religious (more Agnostic than anything), but this song is so beautifully performed, it brings tears. The harmonies, the setting, everything. You don't have to be a believer to appreciate the beauty these men make together with their voices.
I would love for you to watch a performance of this song done by Home Free in Kearney, NE. The weather went bad and the concert was stopped. HF went to a covered pavilion where fans were waiting for the storm to pass and sang this song for them. As moving as the produced version is, I found the Kearney soul touching. The rain and thunder combined with their incredible voices. You can find the video by searching Home Free Kearney.
@@missygarwood Ah, you're welcome! I only remembered it because I was kind of blown away that it was so close to where I live. That and only a 30 minute drive & I missed it!
To me...this is just the most beautiful vocal harmonies ever ! When they sing this live......it is just breathtaking! This was shot in the Austrian Alps when they were on tour!
I HAVE WATCHED YOUR REACTION AT LEAST 20 TIMES. YOU HONOR GOD SO MUCH AND MAKE ME SO HAPPY TO SEE A FELLOW CHRISTIAN NOT BE ASHAMED TO SHOW THEIR HAPPINESS IN THE LORD. "AMAZING GRACE" AND "MY CHURCH" ARE TWO SONGS OF FAITH YOU SHOULD WATCH. ALSO, "GO REST HIGH ON THAT MOUNTAIN" IS ANOTHER ONE THAT WILL MOVE YOU. MAY GOD BLESS YOU IN ALL THAT YOU DO! YOUR REACTIONS ARE PHENOMENOL.
I had my come to Jesus moment in '96 in a detox. A simple and first truly contrite prayer and the addiction was gone. God did the heavy lifting. Now like Paul, the old man must die daily, sometimes he seems to get the upper hand (with behaviours not the dope). But no matter what that moment thoroughly convinced me of the truth of scripture and supremacy of the Lord Jesus. Twenty five years later and still clean and sober. Like you I look around and can't believe that people can't see and believe. But each to their own, I love you anyway. In Christ.
This song and background can bring a tear to even the most callous heart. Being retired U.S.A.F and 3x in Iraq, I can see two things with ease; 1) You can harder your heart and soul for battle, but you CAN"T harder it to God!, and 2) "There are NO atheist in foxholes". I witnessed, too many times to count, people who said the didn't believe in God or weren't religious, only to be yelling out God's name when the stuff hit the fan!.
When someone tries to convince me that "God isn't Real", I always have the same comeback, "I'd rather BELIEVE and be wrong than NOT believe and be wrong." Beautiful reaction.
This is my go-to song to feel hopeful. Watching your reaction created a newness to it. Thank you! The one that makes me cry is Go Rest High on that mountain by Vince Gill covered by HF.
HC I've got in my will two songs by Home Free to be played at my memorial service....HGTA & also their amazing version of Amazing Grace, a collab with Peter Hollens.
This is one of the only songs you get to hear Adam Rupp singing his line -- It is well with my soul . Hard to believe , but he does not think that he can sing
I cry every time I hear this! The beauty of their voices is absolutely breathtaking! Massive respect to you for this reaction and you speaking your truth, which I agree with completely! Love Home Free and glad that you are part of our family! 🔥🔥🍟
I think it's so cool that we are living in a time where several areas of science are beginning to match up with the existence of a Higher Power. I believe we are all unique in our beliefs, that's our free will, and we're living in times when more and more people are beginning to step into their individuality through finding their own understanding rather than just learn to accept what others tell them to understand, and I think that's beautiful. Whether we believe in a Higher Power or not doesn't matter for anyone but us, because we can still be kind, loving and understanding, and those are the things that matter. Thank you for a great reaction. 🥰🙏
Home Free has several songs of faith on their YT playlist. But in addition to that, former HF member Chris Rupp has quite a few songs of faith on his own YT channel. Most of them are solo, but Tim Foust is a guest on "Long Black Train" and "Angels Among Us."
This makes me cry, but more out of hope than anything else...faith is the only thing that has me still here, and hearing this beautiful rendition of my faith is otherworldly
Beautiful! I took care of my sweet Moma and in her last days, and this song was the only thing that kept her calm! Then covid hit and we couldn't honor her "going home", with everyone that loved her! No funeral! But, we played this song at her graveside, and we played it loud!!! ❤️ This is, and will always be special! Thank you!!!!
If we are still having funerals for those who died in WW2, Moma gets a memorial service. My mother and stepfather died eight months apart. In each case, the memorial service was a couple of months later.
I'm from a very religious family on both sides. My grandfather literally built the church building and was one of the 6 founding families of the church when they decided to break away from the church they were in. I was saved during the church's VBS when I was in 6th grade. Music was also a huge part of my family and most of us were in the choirs at church, my sibs & I even sang together as one of many that sang prior to the sermon beginning. Every sunday, nearly without fail, after church we'd head over to my grandparents house for what my grandparents called "tea time", just spending more time with each other before we all headed back to our respective homes for the night. During tea time tho, even as the kids were on the floor with grandpa and the moms were in the dining room with grandma (can't remember what the dads were doing now that I think about it) but my aunt would be at the organ playing and we were all just absently singing along with it. This song was one we sang probably every week so hearing Home Free sing in takes me back to lincoln logs and legos on the floor with grandpa and hearing everyone sing their hearts out. My grandma died in 1984, my grandpa in 1986, one of my aunts died in 1988, another in 2014 followed 2 months later by my mom and then my only sister 4 years ago but it just takes one note and I can hear them all. It took a really long time to be able to listen to this song after mom died and it wasn't been much longer after that that my sister died and music is still kind of a refuge for me but there's just a few songs I can't hear without it tearing my heart in two. Again How Great Thou Art is one of them. But something about Home Free singing it helps put those 2 pieces back together again. So my tears have so many different meanings.
Adam's "It is well with my soul" just takes their version to a whole new level. It just makes you feel peaceful. I wish they would do another song where he didn't beat box and let him sing at least part of the lead.
I consider myself a disciple of Jesús Christ ✝️. Without my Faith, I would most certainly be dead today. Those voices, mountains, valleys, sunshine and serenity are all blessings! We must not miss them as they are right before our eyes. Be thankful and greatful- even if you're not a believer- for those in your life, health, employment, your freedom... 💜 Right here with you 😢 as I watch your reaction.
Mary Did You Know by Pentatonix might be another one right up your alley. I tear up every time I hear it. Home Free's Man of Constant Sorrow is a mind-blower. And you're not alone brother! I've been bedridden for 7 years, paralyzed from the chest down, left hand practically useless and in pain all the time... and I still know God Is watching over me!
They also just released Mary Did You Know. Such a great song and everyone is awesome. Their version of O Holy Night is great and Amazing Grace with Peter Hollens is also great. Your reactions are awesome. Have a great day and at this point have a blessed Christmas
You're not going to like this but here goes. What about the babies that die of cancer, what about the child rapists and murderers, what about the WARS where millions die, what about those who still live in squallor through no fault of there own as in parts of Africa, an example of gods love, a man in America raped and murdered an 84 year old woman in her own home, and when he was finally found after 20 years was already dead and died in a motorbike accident outright, no pain no fear. And what about people like my mother who didn't harm anybody in life, had dementia and died an horrific death 5 months after my father of a broken heart. There is no god, because these things wouldn't happen if he loved us. Where are the millions of billions of people who have died going to be and how are you going to find your loved ones in that lot, and how old are we all going to be in heaven or hell, its impossible, think about it. Whoever wrote the Bible was a very good storyteller, everything written in it can be taken in many ways to suit peoples needs, very clever, and how did he know all this when Jesus had died over a thousand years before, again think about it. We are born and we die and thats it, the end.
@@jennywren7822 I'm saying this gently so I hope you won't take offense. You either haven't read the Bible, or you didn't understand it. The Bible was written over a period of thousands of years by 40 different writers who didn't know each other and yet, it is remarkably consistent and points to a single figure who would be of the line of David and born of a virgin. This Scripture is from The Holy Spirit, not man. How do we know it's true? Unfailing prophesy. We must live in this world... it's the only one we have. Who do you think is the spirit ruling the world? What brought in death, disease, violence and suffering? Why is it so hard to be good and so easy to be bad? How serious is God about sin? What provision has God made to remedy the situation? He loved you enough to enter this sinful, ruined, painful life and died a substitutionary death for YOU, if you will accept it.... and He will return to Earth to rule and make all things right. Never fear about evil people who seemed to have gotten away with evil deeds. God is JUST and they will have to stand before him and give account and face punishment.... and they will be no more in the new Heaven and new Earth.
@@Mycroftsbrother Thank you for being gentle i wasn't expecting that, if an answer at all. How old are we all going to be in heaven? what about babies who have died or died in the womb, how old are animals going to be and how can we find them as our loved ones. Its plain impossible, and where will your God be. We came to this planet in some way, perhaps from Apes, we are very alike, another planet, and as for the holy spirit and not man, well if you believe that. I haven't read the bible, a little when I was at school, and of course we all know about the parting of the waters, Noahs ark and the bread and fishes, just man made stories, how could they have all been written by 40 men over a 1.000 years, who didn't know each other, this planet is huge, and all come together. We are born and we die and rot as all living creatures. Religion has been the cause of most deaths on this planet, so where's your god there. Noooo its all impossible, common sense, it can't be done. We'll agree to disagree, if your belief gives you happiness so be it....
@@jennywren7822 Yes, we have to make our own choices. I pray that you might, at some point, reconsider. My faith gives me great hope and joy even in a dark, dark world.
I Love my Lord. Amazing attitude you have Sir, inviting Everyone no matter what their faith or none at all. That is a true follower of Christ. Once denied, they move on.....Some people need to have time to listen , I know I did. I was agnostic for most of my adult life. Thank God He gave me the wisdom and the space to cry out to Him.
They do a great rendition. It was my grandfather's favorite song and I wish he could have heard it. Thank you and more Home Free. This is beautiful and more Home Free please.
Just subscribed. This video did not show up on my you tube feed and I found it buried in your backlist. But I enjoy what you have to say. Other hymns from Home Free. Amazing Grace with Peter Hollers. Than The Christmas songs. Oh Holy Night, Angels we have Heard on High, and the Christmas masterpiece arranged by Chris Rupp their beatboxer, Do you hear What I hear.
Great suggestions, Rebecca. Although, when it comes to Home Free they're pretty much all great suggestions. This past Christmas season I heard for the first time their version of Silent Night. th-cam.com/video/U1dWXE-B4sw/w-d-xo.html What a beautiful arrangement. I just wanted to add a little something to your list.
Absolutely Love This! (I type before hearing yer reaction!) --- The beginning of this vid is awesome --- yet, nothing prepares you for what you are about to hear and experience!!!!
Very fine rendition of "How Great Thou Art", and reaction too - thank-you. "Go rest high on that mountain" (Church sessions version) also from Home Free is excellent too with its moving message.
I am not religious in any way but something, something I dont know what, got these guys together to give us their great music, the beautiful ones and funny ones to give us a brighter day. I thank them. Nana Karen UK aged 70
By the grace of God and the spirit of my grandfather I never met I survived a truck wreck. I hit a tree at 63mph pulling an 18ft boot behind me. The boat came off of the trailer and thru the back window of my truck and hit the sun visor over my head between me and my son who was 7 at the time. I should have been beheaded. The garden angle pin on my sun visor vanished. She took my place in heaven. It wasn't my time to go. God had other plans for me and my son. He is 26 and I am 50 now. God is good all the time.
Those harmonies!!! It’s one of my favorites. So nice to see Adam sing in this too. This was filmed in the Austrian Alps when they were touring there. Be still and know that I am God, Psalm 46:10. I said that when I first saw the Grand Canyon or the giant Sequoias or the mountains. They sing Amazing Grace with Peter Hollens you might like. Also they sing Go Rest High on that Mountain in a church called the Church Sessions...they sing a couple of other songs there too. Also at Christmastime they sing some songs in church like O Holy Night and Angels We Have Heard on High. They’re stellar. Great reaction!
Great reaction! I'm with you, you cannot help to get emotional listening to this version. I would suggest you reacting to their version of "O Holy Night". It reaches into your soul and sends chills down your spine. Also Amazing Grace by Peter Hollens featuring Homefree. Amazing!!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your faith with us. May God bless you each and every day.
im gonna give my view as a none believer but i really appreciate these kind of songs. i know alot of ppl got saved by going to church and starting to seek help with god. But im really down to earth and i also see the ppl that take advantage of the ppl that believe. And no its not everyone but alot of ppl that turn to god are vulnerable at that moment. faith and believing should never harm anyone. it should be a place where ppl can go to feel better. sry if i hurt anyone with giving my view on this.
Yes church should always be about God’s perfect love for you. But sometimes that doesn’t happen. I hope you find a way to find that love someday. Blessings for your day. The song says a lot, don’t you think?
@@tracyz9155 I think Quizzy was talking about religion (church) but also about faith. The actions of people affiliated with church/religion drove me away decades ago, but my faith has not changed. I can express my faith anywhere or I can feel it anywhere. My faith is not dependent on a church or clergy or congregation. My faith is within. A few people destroyed my trust, some in church, some in life - repeatedly. But my faith was not destroyed.
I was raised as a child in a Baptist church. My sister went bc she was made to with the family. I no longer go into a church structure but I still believe. My sister believes in karma but not God. Everyone is free to believe how ever they choose. I appreciate your view. Well said
Great reaction brother. Fully agree with your comments on faith. As for song suggestions that are faith based by HF, I agree with Rebecca's list below and their most recent Star of Bethlehem which they did this past December in collaboration with Jeffery East and the Oak Ridge Body. With 10 men's voices singing and harmonizing, it is phenomenal. You may also enjoy their collaboration video with Alabama, Christmas in Dixie they did also during their Christmas show concert last December.

Thank you for being gentle i wasn't expecting that, if an answer at all.
Amazing grace by them is nothing short of amazing
A beautiful reaction from a truly beautiful soul. Thank you Highly! Take care and God Bless.
Thank you Laura. Much love!
Oh Holy Night is also a beautiful song they sing that really moves me
Thanks for your genuine heart
God bless you
That was filmed in Austria(in Europe),my north-west neighbour country, just 2 hour drive from my home..beautiful country and mountains...
Also your thumbnail pic is from another song than what is featured in this reaction😁
@@davidhoag4697 Thanks
Home Free is so good. The speak directly to your soul in this one. Definitely check out My Church it is my favorite❤❤❤♨️
Absolutely Love This! (I type before hearing yer reaction!) --- The beginning of this vid is awesome --- yet, nothing prepares you for what you are about to hear and experience!!!!
It's actually watching reactors that gives me hope for my children and the world they will have.
Always a favorite, I tear up every time I hear it.
Go rest high by them and Christmas songs are incredible!!!!
This is so beautiful! I have watched this countless times and still get chills!
I’m a PK so definitely a strong belief in God!
Simply wonderful reaction ! ❤️ ✌️
I get goosebumps every single time Tim starts singing - this is so awesome. Truly worship!!
Beautiful reaction
Your reaction was awesome! Home Free is good all the time!
Give God a try. Pick up a Bible and begin in the Gospel of John. You just might LIKE it. Blessings.
I was raised as a child in a Baptist church. My sister went bc she was made to with the family.
I no longer go into a church structure but I still believe.
My sister believes in karma but not God. Everyone is free to believe how ever they choose. I appreciate your view. Well said
The video was filmed in the Austrian Alps - it really is gorgeous scenery!
Stunning and amazing reaction xx
Amen
Beautiful reaction. You touched me. God bless you!
It’s the best version I’ve ever heard done ☦️☦️💖☦️☦️‼️
They take you to church 🙏☦️🙏
Great reaction brother. Fully agree with your comments on faith. As for song suggestions that are faith based by HF, I agree with Rebecca's list below and their most recent Star of Bethlehem which they did this past December in collaboration with Jeffery East and the Oak Ridge Body. With 10 men's voices singing and harmonizing, it is phenomenal. You may also enjoy their collaboration video with Alabama, Christmas in Dixie they did also during their Christmas show concert last December.
