The light hitting the stickers shows that every two layers is actually only one layer. This cube only has thirteen layers. The last tree on each side are only one. Also, when the first green layer is turned, mid-turn, you can see the side view on the other pieces. They are too big to be the size of the sticker.
I am impressed, you almost got me there. But, here's a tip, try editing the glare from the lamp above the cube. At any point in time, I could tell, when the lamp's light blocked the color of the stickers, that there were 4 sticker squares per moveable square.
I'm satisfied knowing that I *could* solve this if I tried, and don't need to actually do it. It looks like it would take twenty minutes or more to scramble, and work on it a little bit every day for a week to solve.

Im skeptical though. Pause on 3:17. You see that little speck of light? You can see all of these 2x2 blocks, and where the light is shining on them. So why isn't the light shining on all of the little pieces? Also, notice how when he does the turning at the end, he does turns only with 2,4,8 ect. pieces being turned on the layer? Why is that? And the reason why he didn't flip the cube over is because otherwise you'd be able to see that he isn't turning single layers, but 2 layers at a time. All Tony did here was put 4 small stickers on each individual inner piece, and but 2 slim stickers on each outer piece. Sorry, Tony. My skepticism annoys me all the time. I sometimes wish I could stay ignorant and think "hey! new world record puzzle!", but no. Also, why? Why try to fool the masses? It's not April fools day!
First of all, its not fake. Second of all, the reason the pieces looked like a 2x2 at 3:17 is because the cube's roundness is distorting the light from the ceiling.
They're starting to get enough pieces that people could do some interesting patterns and designs/images with the pieces, assuming they had the patience. It would be amazing to see a 28x28 stop motion animation of a stick figure solving a cube puzzle. Solving a cube within a cube =)
VERY nice editing. The thing that gave it away was the reflection on the plastic, and there was none between the sets of 2x2 stickers. Fooled me for a bit though!
+Ranger McCue I don't think it's possible to have a cube with an odd number of sides. BTW the biggest ever cube attempted was a 22x22x22. So although your statement is correct your reasoning is not.
+Tony Fisher why does it look like a 14 by 14 with stickers with a special design to look like a 28 by 28, you can see in the light, and the "moves" where the power of editing to change the stickers to a different design
Wow....and I have a tendency to only do a 9x9x9 a side in a sitting. I can't imagine how long that'd take me. I do find it interesting how the layers seem to stay close to pairs...though I imagine that might have something to do with the piece design (not implying any trickery).
WHAAAAAAAAT... Oh. Dangit, Tony! I didn't figure it out until I saw the shine from the stickers. Also, the exposed internals when you turn the cube give the game away.
I think its simply a 15x15x15 that has stickers that make it look like a 28x28x28. You can tell that only 15 layers are shown to move. Somehow the colors on the stickers change during the movements on top view, but not sure how.
Just looking at the first bit when he moves the yellow into the top of whatever other color I feel like I'm having a heart attack. I can't breath, it's too much! I can't handle it!
A few things gave it away. 1; You've made video's about non-existent puzzles before. 2: I'm pretty sure that in those video's you also showed an intro with candles unmelting, which is not real. 3: The glare of the stickers. 4: The strange way of holding and scrambling it. 5: The questionmark at the end of 28x28x28?
ahah lol....it is not the first of april but it is cool joke...and i think it is a really long process to take moyu's 13x13 and cut each sticker into 2x2 ....+ video editing....but still..awsome joke
no tall 13....first and last edge(witch are pilloew) are cutted just on half ....so on every sticker there is 4 and on the outer ones are just 2...look closly
I see what your saying, but that would mean each piece is 2 across right ? So that's the inner pieces ( 11 ) which comes to 22. Then the outer pieces. Also 2 across, which comes to a total of 4. 22 + 4 is 26 not 28
lol. the light reflected off of the stickers and you could see that there were just stickers with a black line. the pattern was already like that on the opposite side so when you finished it looked normal!
I feel like after a certain threshold these enormous cubes are so fragile they're less puzzles and more desk decorations Still mind blowing that it's fully functional though
Me and my friend argued for like 20 minutes over if this was fake or not and I thought it was real and I felt so dumb when I rewatched him turning it....
TheOfficialCocoa Definately fake, look at the edges when he's halfway done turning a slice. Corners are 3x3 stickered, edges 2x3 and the centerpieces 2x2. You never actually see him turning a single slice. From there, the color of the stickers are videoedited. Much effort and nicely presented though :)
It is fake. With the first slice turns that made the repeating red yellow pattern, all the sides except blue and green would have a similar pattern. He then shows other turns and reveals that the white side is untouched which is impossible. My guess is he took a 13x13 and replaced the yellow stickers with stickers that were half yellow half red.

TheProgrammingCuber Ah.
TheProgrammingCuber I saw that too xD
This is actually a 13x13, you can see the light hitting the pieces.
Haha, had me for a second. Very cool stickers though.

Because even successfully unscrambling it is an accomplishment.

Actually it's fake.
+Nicolino Will The posts you are replying to are very old and virtually all of those people will know now.
This is an awesome sticker mod!
This is by far the best pseudo 28x28 i have seen in my time.
This was great! I liked your candlelit intro as well.
The reflection of light from the stickers was an easy way to figure this little trick out
Im skeptical though. I sometimes wish I could stay ignorant and think "hey! new world record puzzle!", but no. Also, why? Why try to fool the masses? It's not April fools day!
Spifflet Also, the super small layers don't get misaligned, but the 2 layer chunks do.
Spifflet 5:52. Note how you can clearly not see any splits inbetween the smaller layers, but you can inbetween every set of 2 layers.
First of all, its not fake. Second of all, the reason the pieces looked like a 2x2 at 3:17 is because the cube's roundness is distorting the light from the ceiling.
Aaaahhhh! Too many layers! Too much insanity! (head explodes)

R. H. You got me, but then again, I've never solved anything above a 3x3, so I wouldn't know what to look for.
seems like layers in groups of two tend to stick together. u can see the obvious 2x2 square center pieces that align
nice trick, the oposite side to red has the custom sticker mod with the "stripes"
wow. You broke Oskar's record :P
Gary Lu I said it was made by the Taiwan Puzzle Corporation so they broke his record (or not).
Gary Lu it's fake, just look when he finished making the stripes, the right side is still fully Red but not partially red with stripes too
Holy hit ! You need to be a genius to solve that
The brightness of the stickers is quite revealing ... ; )

VERY nice editing. The thing that gave it away was the reflection on the plastic, and there was none between the sets of 2x2 stickers. Fooled me for a bit though!
Now that really is a thing of beauty
Even if you had not seen part two, you could obviously see that it is a 13x13 by looking at the exposed layers while he was in the middle of a turn.
Epic intro!
Definitely fake- restickered. Why would they make a cube so large with even number of sides
+Ranger McCue I don't think it's possible to have a cube with an odd number of sides. BTW the biggest ever cube attempted was a 22x22x22. So although your statement is correct your reasoning is not.

what...
good job!
I think its simply a 15x15x15 that has stickers that make it look like a 28x28x28. You can tell that only 15 layers are shown to move. Somehow the colors on the stickers change during the movements on top view, but not sure how.

I believe it to be a 15 x 15 and only cut the center peices to get the 28... I'm just asking questions lol
Brecken Wright no it is actualy 13x13 and he cutted every sticker into 2x2 ;)
But wait :) if all 13 were cut 13*2 is 26. If it was the 13 center peices plus the two outer peices 13*2 ( +2 ) equals 28
no tall 13....first and last edge(witch are pilloew) are cutted just on half ....so on every sticker there is 4 and on the outer ones are just 2...look closly
