- Today I'm setting up a brand new aquascape in this step by step tutorial! I'll show you how I build the Dragon Wood hardscape, install the sand path, and then we'll cover plant prep as well as the planting of the hair grass carpet itself. Stay tuned for lots of updates as this aquascape develops!

Green Rasboras would look great with the hard scape and hair grass. They’re very active too.
Great suggestion! I've never kept this species before
Microdevario kubotai w9uld be a great choice, I like the Microrasboras naevus, too. They are quite easy to handle, not shy and very beautiful.
Thanks for the tips!
Just wanted to say that I love your content. Thank you very much for sharing!
I appreciate that!
Green Rasboras with Neocaradina Orange Sunkist will be nice :)))
The hardscape looks awesome man! That dragon is so cool! I love a big school of chili rasboras! Also celestial pearl danios are a favorite. I know they don’t school as well so maybe glowlight danios 🤔 can’t wait to see what you chose!
Chilis are a classic! Love em!
@@LoganRandoAquascaping yep. Definitely make the scape look bigger than it is too!
From San Diego, Near Miramar Reservoir, dwarf hair grass carpets just fine in contra soil and full tap. CPD's and most tetras have done great and even have Crystal Reds shrimp and Red King Kongs breeding in full tap
Glad to hear you've had good results in the tap here!
Celestial Pearl danios with orange neos!
I also vote Kubotai rasboras. Lovely scape! I do worry about that hairgrass in hard water. I find that tank bred fauna can adjust to hard water conditions, but plants not so much. Good luck, and I can't wait to see what comes next!
A beautiful fish indeed! Fingers crossed the plants hold up. The soil and wood definitely help lower the pH at least
What are you using for the background light? It looks awesome!
It's from FJARDE on Amazon
@@LoganRandoAquascaping Thanks
Green neons
Phoenix Rasboras maybe?
If you were to do this scape again without doing a monoculture, what other plant varieties would you use and where?
Looking for some inspiration to do this on my 60U!
Maybe some s repens. Rotal green in the back. Helanthium tenellum green in the midground
@@LoganRandoAquascaping nice? Anything colorful? It’s so hard for me to envision plants within a hard scape
How is that path going to stay in place and not just run down or mix in with the soil overtime?
Plant roots and hardscape keep things generally in place. Of course I have to do a bit of weekly maintenance to remove the stray soil granule or two
@@LoganRandoAquascaping Yeah, I'm realizing that, just have setup mine.
