simplicity is the point of a kayak, drop and go wherever there
is a clear bank to launch. if I was going to spend thousands on
a rig I'd just get a actual boat/trailer setup, going crazy with a
kayak to the point you need a trailer so you can't just hit the
water and go completely defeats the purpose.

@@mkfishing4458 you aint wrong but to each their own. You dont necessarily have to have ALL of this to get out on the water. You can make it as simple or as complex as youd like. In CO we dont have many large bodies of water to utilize a boat. The closest on to me is still 50 minutes away and I cant justify a boat. Along with that a lot places are electric-only lakes. Dont get me wrong though, I am definitely eyeing a Boat and a simple Hobie Lynx in the future! Tightlines man!

got the Hobie 180 drive over the 360 just from what i heard durability wise. got the xi3 as well. I had a boat but what ive noticed is mobility wise the kayak is way better. Also ive noticed kayaking makes you a better fisherman. I used to fish and drive off and try somewhere else. Your usually passing fish to try and find fish. Boats have their advantage but kayaking you defiantly have a better connection to the sport than boat fishing.

I agree! I've been fishing in a PA12 180 for 6 yrs, 5 days a week from May to Oct here in Ontario, Canada 🍁. While your range is limited in a pedal kayak that's more than compensated for by being so darn stealthy! I'm convinced Hobie's Mirage drive is the quietest, least intrusive way to fish, better than electric motors and much quieter than paddling.

The 180 is crazy reliable! I actually would love to get another one but with the 180 drive!

@@dlmsarge8329absolutely! There are so many times that a quiet motor has helped me catch fish, you'll probably see it in my next videos! But stealth can be so key to getting more bites!

You do tournaments on your kayak . I'm a recreational fisherman so I sold my pedal kayak and picked up a jon boat. All my kayak accessories are now attached to my jon boat's rail system so I still feel at home. Onlything All I'm missing on my join boat is a pedal drive. lol jk. Pedal drive wasn't my thing. I prefer my paddle kayak with a trolling motor over my pedal kayak.😁

As a kayak fisherman keep it simple. Don't over complicated it. Just my opinion, to each your own. I know guys that went all out. I'm able to launch almost anywhere while others need to drop with a launch. I'm usually fishing while others are still setting up their kayak at the launch.
