- As of July 1, it will be illegal for any restaurant in the Golden State to add special surcharges to diners' checks, which has become a favorite method that restaurants use to lower costs and enhance employee incomes.

Just came back from Japan. A delicious bowl of pork ramen cost me $7. No taxes, no tips. Beautiful service. Nice utensil and ceramic bowl. Here, a CV phony bowl of ramen $20 to $25. Tips, charges, credit card fees. Headache
Welcome to Biden Venezuela.
Now ban hotels' surcharge fees. What the heck is the resort fees?
This law bans that too.
@isaacng123456789 I wish this applies to dealerships as well. What the heck is the advertisement fee? All the fees that are irrelevant to the price should be banned.
@@fromisheon4867 The only fees dealership can charge under existing laws are:
taxes, vehicle registration fees, the California tire fee, emission testing charges not exceeding $50, actual fees charged for certificates, finance charges, and any dealer document processing charge or charge to electronically register or transfer the vehicle
I think the food should pay for restaurant's fees. No hidden fees.
Sometimes those crooks charge 20% “service fee,” regardless of how many people are in your party.
They also want us to pay tips after the sales tax.
Don’t rip people off. You should be able to look at your menu and have a pretty good idea what your bill will be.
Resort fee gotta go
Finally!
Voting blue in California isn't working out
💯
When will these people learn?
California, the land of taxes.
Here's a nice lady who is wondering about the same thing I am: Do you tip on take out? I feel like I'm doing the work when I pick up my meals. I tried to justify leaving a few bucks for the containers they use, but they are saving a lot by not using waitstaff, bussers, and dishwashers. Plus, if it is a sit-down restaurant, they get to fit more people in the dining area.
I hate it but i do add $2-$5
I was doing it for a while then stopped when I realized that I am actually saving the restaurant money. If anything, carryout food should be discounted.
@@dirremoire Can we all rally around this brave person?
I've seen using cash getting discounted 😅
In Korean BBq place..the patrons are cooking their own food..😅 should be like cheaper since no cooks needed
Good, just pay your employees, it shouldn't be our job you pay your employees. I don't mind paying more for the food I just hate tipping culture.
you don't mind paying more for food? you must be ok with the price surge at fastfood... you're 1 in a million
Prices WILL NOT be going way up... we'll just finally be seeing TRUE prices. July is plenty of time to print new menus. I'll NEVER tip takeout. I'm so excited about this!!!
Stopped in a bar for one beer yesterday. Receipt had 5 (FIVE) different taxes and surcharges included. Beer ended up costing $15 with tip. Before you ask, it was just a mid-level neighborhood joint. And no, it did not come with a BJ.
How about some
FOOD INSPECTORS ?
😡
My fingers have become laser fast these days. My eyes can easily distinguish a tipping screen from not without even reading anything. That skip button is clicked with quickness 😂
honestly i couldnt care less. charge as much as you want. I cook 80% of my meals
All they will do is charge more for the food. People that eat out is a luxury, so they will pay it! Restaurants are getting so so so creative when it comes to billing and charges. Parking?? You gotta start with parking. Everyone has their hands out for tip, for making a sandwich? What about McDonald's, let's get a jar going there!
Tips is too high already. Really don’t want extra charge.
This is the only positive thing CA has done in the last 4 years
Restaurant food is trash.
Just don't eat out. Everything just getting too expensive and the food portions are just getting smaller at some restaurants.
Ceo wages are out of control
what about that 4% health surcharge?
And what's stopping them from raising prices to make up the difference
New loophole to rip off customers, restaurants owners make a lot of money they should rise salaries to employees 😢😢😢😢 . 🤮
The waitress and waiter usually doesn’t give great service.
But they force u to tip them .
I uesd to be restaurant and hotel manager and l never permit that the staff took avance from customers.
No service no tip , no good attitude no tip
Only silly Americans have this tip culture.
Anywhere in the world, the customers get the exact bills no tips. Restaurants should just charge all the cost including whatever they think should be in.
We go out eating for fun not to go out to get a math homework
