    I find it funny that he went to the lengths of weighing bearings yet knowingly left heavier parts on the bike, like the power meter, stock bars, and those wheels. He didn’t give us a weight on the wheels but if they’re old I’m certain there’d be something far lighter available now. I’d like to see it when it’s got all the absolute lightest stuff on it

    Hi Shane, can you please do another bike check with Dr. Slane? After so many years I'm sure he's got something new to gawk at. This is one of my favorite bike videos ever and I come back to it every now and then.

    • @gplama
      @gplama  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I just missed the opportunity to do this. I was staying with him for a few days earlier this week where he had both his new road setup and TT rig. 165mm cranks too! 🧐

    • @jarnoverheij4219
      @jarnoverheij4219 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @gplama Ah I should've commented a week earlier. Maybe next time. Looking back through the videos you made about his bikes it really surprises me how far ahead of the curve he was. From the high hand position on his tri rig to the mullet setup on his gravel bike.

      However you really should know everything about your bike like the proper way to pronounce MCFK and that your rims are ENVE Classic 25s. You could drop a few more grams too with a Bontrager XXX barstem, extralite or carbon ti hubs, and a berk integrated saddle and post.

    A mars bar weighs about 50 grams and 5 x 20c pieces is about 100 grams. Rotational mass is where its at so super light frames don;t do much just break if you sneeze over them. Nice bike i must say.

      ITs about 70 if you brake correctly.

    • @KurtisPape
      @KurtisPape 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I cant slow down at all using the back brake, from my experience MTB is about 50/50 but leaning more towards the front but it depends how you ride, some people use only back brake because its more fun, but on the road, I brake a little on the back and the back wheel just locks up, I actually put grease on my back rotor for safety on my road bike

    • @glennoc8585
      @glennoc8585 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      OMG you should not be getting lockup on your rear brakes unless you squeeze too hard.

    • @KurtisPape
      @KurtisPape 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hydro brakes not rim brakes, I replaced resin pads with metal, and the lock up with the slightest squeeze, its actually quiet funny, but with a little grease they work just fine like the resin pads.

Also...big chainring and biggest cog in the rear prbly isn't all that healthy even for "presentation" where i would consider smallest cog and big chainring more proper.
    Stages or 4iiii powermeter is lighter, speedplay titanium pedals, aluminium cassette as a suggestion for further weightweenieness.
