Ducati gear shift mechanism setting procedure - the internal linkage.

How I set up the internal shift linkage after I've had it out to replace the return spring. I don't adjust the centre eccentric and lock nut - I find that problematic when trying to tighten it. Best to align using the slots IMO.

Well I aint having fun for the last 3 hours...I replaced the spring,undid the jam nut,adjusted the eccentric,all solid and steady. As soon as i tighten the jam nut,the plate has a lot of play in it. When positioned in the bike it is impossible to align the notch on the drum,because even when the 2 allen bolts are tight,I can move the fork arm with my fingers...

i don't know why people adjust the eccentric. loosening the jam nut is a great way to start a mess.

if you've had the mechanism out then the adjusting slots should be pretty obvious.
