    The alapana is so beautifully constructed, esp the phrases around Ma. The speed of playing is quite fast, a testament to the vidwat of LGJ. He also seems to be in his peak during this time. 2:10-2:37 is just blissful to hear.

    I remember reading GJR Krishnan started playing alongside only since 1973. If so who played along with Vidhwan Lalgudi Jayaraman here?

    For north indian listeners, familiarity is enjoyable. However, so many gem raga's of south are strange or not familiar.
    I think north south combine can bring out them. Tillana's are good introduction.
    Secondly tilak kamod and malinkanta are similar. Always mention north equivalent. It will create broad audience.NALINKANTA.

    Lalgudi, the great. Violin communicates each and every syllable oh the Varnam.
