One of the most famous names associated with Classical Carnatic Music is that of Dr. Balamuralikrishna. This legendary musician and Padmabhushan awardee is an able composer, singer, poet and instrumentalist who can sing perfectly in three octaves. He was born on 6th October, 1930. So he was 81 years young at this concert!!!

Ten lifetimes of an ordinary mortal is't enough even to appreciate to the fullest the music that Pandit BMK has rendered in one lifetime. No one but KRISHNA Himself can fully appreciate the music of the divine Balamuralikrishna-ji.
Verily, Dr. Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna is now in Vaikuntha, with Shri Hari, whence he once came.
Ronu Majumdar is one of the greatest flautist of out era! He follows Doctors voice so fluidly!
I have no idea how this extraordinary music survived this long and still so relevant if one has a minute to sit down....
guru dr. balamuralikrishna is 81years young.hats off tohis singing standard at this age.easily travelling notes in 3octaves.ronuji is blessed man to have a jugalbandi with him.may god bless these two legendary musicians.

sri gurubhyonamaha...... Raga ravali Bala murali suswara sarali krishnuni andela ravali ade maa Balamurali .....madhuramaina raagaavali
Dr.BMK is a divine gift. He is Sangeeta Ratna, Loka Ratna as for as the Rasikas are concerned.
ONE OF THE FINEST COMPOSITIONS ON EARTH.
FIrst I thought Jesudas was the best ever. Then i got to listen to Pt. Bhimsen Joshi and Hindustani music. Finally I ended up watching BalamuraliKrishna Garu..And I dont think I can find any one better.
Yesudasji can sing in any octave. He can manage both classical and film music, which is not easy
I sincerely believe that comparisons of this type really does disservice to all the three giants mentioned here. Each of these artistes have provided unlimited happiness to millions of people. They have in many many cases brought sincere tears to the eyes of many of their rasikAs by bringing the darshan of the good Lord himself. their music opens us to our own goodness and kindness if we listen with an open mind. Trying to rank them is like telling that a rose smells better than jasmine. What stops anyone from enjoying all of them? This is a sad commentary on the "number one" culture.
Not ranked them, my experience and knowledge widened hearing each one of them.
That is a fair and an insightful point indeed. I want to thank you because your reply brought back a rush of memories. It was Sri Yesudas opened my eyes, ears and mind to carnAtik music when I listened to his "thiruppArkadalil pallikondayE sriman nArAyaNA' from the 1975 movie Swamy Ayyappan. I did not realize that it was in the rAga bhairavi. I used to like this song so much that I would sing the first line of the pallavi whenever I was playing carrom to psyche myself to put the "follow" after the red! Eventually, I started listening to Sri BMK (not surprisingly, nagumOmu!). Then, one day, I was lying down alone in my home in the early evening because I was having a light fever. I saw a carnAtic program featuring Sri Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan on the TV. I was so smitten by his music that I felt a desire to want to learn carnAtic music so I could put at a little bit of kalpana swara. I continue to learn carnAtic music to this day, and I cannot thank these doyens enough for opening my life to the wonderous world of nAdha! Again, thank you for making me recall truly pleasant memories from the past.
E'NDARO MAHAANUBHAAVULU. ANDARIKEE, VANDANAMULU .
Amazing music,,Sri BMK is still living in hearts..
Amazing singing and very melodious and beautiful concert ❤❤❤
Dignity and humility shining through this scintillating concert.. This is the last flute I have .. Indeed. What an amazing combination. Mutual respect between the performers begets our respect to them
he is not only the best carnatic singer he is the best vocalist ... no one can do what he does
A great legendwith divine quality.
A great master of his craft. A greater singer of Hindolam borders on the realm of impossibility.
It is shameful to Indian govt for not giving "BHATA RATNA" to this Divine Singer who
has got many international AWARDS. This is only because he is South Indian.
+Sitaramsiri S Sir, I think, Dr Balamuralikrishna Is the only Thri Loga Ratna! The govt of India nor any other is empowered to confer such an award. Only Divinity Can
he is much more than bharath ratna....universal ratna
It is unfortunate that Dr BMK, the legendary was not given BHARATA RATNA, when he was alive. Let the Modi government extend it at least posthumously .
Do you know the first ever vocalist to be awarded bharath rathna was a south Indian?
Bharath Ratna is a political award hence it would be disgrace to him if awarded
Dr.BalmuaraliKrishna is a living legend, His singing is slightly different from other Carnatic style singers in the sense that he does not use gamaks very much. hence he is liked by North Indian classical listeners. I wish him long healthy performing life. Ronu is able to match with Guru's notes well
Very fortunate to have attended this concert by both legends
He is a master craftsman.
BMK and Majumdar are equally great. Thanks for your presentation.
Close your eyes. Put this on headphones. Just lose yourself in the divinity of the composition.
The connection of sound and linguistic speech sound dancing with one another reminds me of the utter connection of the cliche that humankind is connected by music. Although trained in North America by the prevalent overpower of tonality of the western world I can only see that music from different cultures share a common origin of the harmonic series, so I can appreciate this language from a different perspective. Thank you for this wonderful video!
It's an excellent treat to the music lovers.
Divine music
I have heard it many times, Still fascinating every time!
One of the greatest, we should be proud of him.
Wonderful rendering
Hats off to the flautist.

After Thyagaraja, Deekshithar and Shyamasastri, it is Balamurali Krishna... No doubt....BMK's compositions are not behind the Trio's................Wish him good health and long life
Absolutely correct Sir. His is the combined soul of those three masters.
Mind blowing
Excellent....
WOUNDERFULLLLLLL
"That's the last flute I have" :D
Soulful
A true Bharataratna
There is basic difference in hindustaani and carntic. In hindustaani it takes time to peak while it is not the case with carnatic. With this difference singing along with hindutaani requires great command which is in ample display here by Balamurali.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
What a performance?
I will adjust my voice , mic no problem......... great
only voice cello and didgeridoo make my hair prickle
From 18:34 to 19:20 best melody..

ronu majumdar was also excellent
YES BALAMURALI IS A LIVING LEGEND AND NO PARALLEL TO HIS VIDVATH. HE WILL BE HOWEVER THE FIRST ONE TO ADMIT HIS GOING OFF KEY OR NOT IN LINE SRUTHI. WE CALL IT PLAINLY ABASWARAM..WITH ALL HIS Mstery, perhaps due to his advanced age he is not able to avouid the pitfall
adbhutahamina jugal bandi...manasu pulakarinchibdi
Chandra Sekhar Eo ट

what is the difference with hindolam and malkauns pleasee ??
yadous
July 1930 not October
Hindolam what else ?
Both the ragas have the same swaras, sa ga ma da ni sa,& sa ni da ma ga sa, in the same swarasthanas. No difference what so ever.
Is baala Murali singing or weeping icant comprehend no hindola or malkauns in his singing he has no breath atall or breath control he was incapable of high octave so he just wept in avaroh all along in his musical career
Most
Abhorrent
Music
I
Ever
Heard
Non
Sense
Listen to his Ksheera Sagara where he touches the ati-tara SA at Taraka Nama. After that, contemplate for some time on your utter ignorance. But, if you were ever capable of such contemplation, you wouldn't have made this comment.
This idiot is fishing for responses. Better ignored
His music is for human beings. He redifined Carnatic classical music
Expecting flawless reach to perfect 3rd octave from an octogenarian vocalist is utter stupidity on your part Mr Vasudeva Kolar. He sang 20000+ concerts by that time and you listen to his music of 1960-80 and you'll only laugh at your ignorance after that.
@@venkat6260 Rather than calling him stupid it would have been better if you would have in all humility tried to dispel his doubts. Sad.
