- Even though the majority of Republicans have come to Donald Trump’s support post-indictment, they haven’t really been defending his actions. “It’s an excellent authoritarian tactic to divert and displace attention from what is actually contained in the indictment,” says Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), a former January 6th Committee member and former Lead Impeachment Manager. He tells Ali Velshi that the indictment is not really a test of Trump. “It's a test of who we are, and what kind of fidelity we have to the rule of law and the justice system.”

Which says the records belong to the OFFICE of the President not to the individual holding the office. With the passing of he Office comes the passing of the documents.

After paying Nixon they wrote the Presidential records act to STOP such things. The records belong to the Office of the President not to the office holder. Once he wasn't the office holder all his rights were transferred to his successor.

The former president racked up our debt by 25% in 4 years. That was due to the worst handling of the pandemic in the world, by playing down and mocking the threat instead of investigating. He did not close our borders in February, but it took him six months. We were the county with the most contagion and death in the world. Twice as many deaths as India, which has three times the USA population. I maintain that the GOP is not fit to govern the country. I will not get into the ridiculous decisions of the governor of my state, R. DeSantis. President Biden must stop asking for money for now. It is not the time to do so; this is the time to keep exposing the incompetence of the GOP and the danger of all the stripping of freedom, robbing women's rights, treating minorities without respect, and their stupid authoritarian agenda.

I sighed a breath of relief when President Biden was elected, however, i saw him as a one term President, a bridging President. I would like to see Jamie Raskin, and Liz Cheney run for the position of President, how Democratic would it be, to have a President, and a Vice President from different parties. They both have shown ability, integrity, and most importantly, they are not intimidated by Mr. D Trump, they know how to call out his misinformation, with the reality of facts..
Liz Cheney is admirable in her integrity and devotion to the rule of law. Doesn't mean she's not a right-winger. I respect her a lot, but there are better people to run the country.
