My wife got the excel model and is really pleased with it. Its a nippy car and she is getting 70 mpg or 3.36l/100km thats impressive.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm interested in the Excel. In all seriousness, how does it bear up on the motorway in terms of comfort and road noise (long journey)? Is it overbearing and wearing or refined?

It’s actually very good to drive on the motorway and good when you put your foot down, it embarrasses a lot of other cars with a good bit more power

Great sounding engine. It has character. Ive tested one of these, the eCVT and engine work very well together, and its surprisingly quick as the gearing is seamless as you accelerate. Very relaxing to drive. I dont like traditional auto boxes anymore, no matter how many fixed gears they have. They feel clunky by comparison. CVT makes for relaxing drive. Some hate them and complain about lack of response. I have never had that problem. The key is not to floor the accelerator from standing, CVTs dont work like that. Anyone who hates them simply doesnt understand them and is too thick to try. My Outback leaves a lot in the dust in “S” mode and thats without a turbo, which it doesnt need anyway. Its all about knowing how they drive. Happy motoring everyone :)

The acceleration is as good or better than many 1980s hot hatches and is probably as much performance as most drivers will ever need on UK roads.

Hi i'm looking to buy a new car, and one of the cars i'm really interested is the new yaris (only the hybrid version). After watching all your insightful videos that you've made, would you recommend the new yaris hybrid? What do you think is its biggest disadvantage as well as and its biggest advantage? I'm between the suzuki mild hybrid (as my more economical pick) the yaris hybrid and the polo dsg 110hp (as my most expensive pick). Is the hybrid yaris that much more fuel efficient than the other two i mentioned? Your experience would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Definitely he measured just 0-100 km/h on speedometer, not GPS, but still his time is much better, especial when I checked his time (plus/minus) 0-140 km/h and 0-161 km/h. Maybe in Japan they have stronger cars in reality, comparing to Europe. I checked two cars and achieved results which I published.
