Hey Phil. I watched this just this morning and then in the shop today i got my summit column out, good thing i saved my original AD steering column dash clamp. Take out the 2 rubber bushings and its a perfect 2 inches. Ill be fabricating a firewall clamp soon. Thanks for the video.

Right now I'm using a muffler clamp to hold the column in place.... I'm going to make up a better clamp or find a factory one to use :) I'll get to that when I re-work my entire dash for the digital dash I'm installing.

Have fun changing plugs 1, 3 and 5. Drill holes in your inner fender well and use a long extension.

Steering is on my to do list thank you for the video. Helps with some ideas.

Glad this video helped! I've seen too many people just throw a straight rod in and it rubs against the manifold.... I can only imagine how bad the steering wheel vibrations would be!

@@ShowPhil I think my truck has the worst steering known to man. The vega box is so worn out and binding. It is setup as traditional steer and the vega box was mounted upside down. I bought a new Impala power box I want to make cross steer. My biggest problem is I have no idea what steering column I have that needs rebuilt with new bearings. I would want my rods from column to go right next to frame and run down to box to have as much space away from engine block as possible to be out of the way for any engine maintenance. Your video helped me think of a idea with using the joint right at the column to get it to drop and go over towards the frame right away. Most videos I have seen they do not show much of the setup like you did to really brake it down and show the setup process. When I bought my truck it already had this worst steering known to man setup. So I am looking around for all the info I can get to make it drivable and safe lol. This will be my first full steering fabrication. Once again thank you take care..

I like it Mr. Showphil, but I have the patriot headers for the S10 I did make some progress by raising the engine, thanks for dowel that is very helpful and once again you keep me getting closer to my completion. I'm waiting for my lizardskin products to come in so I can put down some sound control. One question? Will you be painting or just doing clear coat. Thanks sir, because your build is very helpful great job.
