I take all your hyperbole and theatrics as an attempt to proclaim ‘90s style basketball as superior to all other eras. Yet, like many of your other arguments, your failure to consider context and provide a proper perspective destroys your credibility.
If the Celtics with their 90s style play was so superior, why are they still title-less? If I recall, this team went on to disappear against the Warriors and their “open spacing, modern offense”. Their physicality was moot and only served them so they could hug and console themselves. Maybe the Nets weren’t so much bothered by the physical defense as they were ineffective for failing to develop the chemistry that great teams demonstrate.
But you can’t admit that because DreamersPro is hellbent on proving that the modern era of basketball (and its players) are devastatingly inferior to the style of play and the players of the past. Can anyone just say midlife crisis and living in the past?
Ppl think today's players are more skilled because they can put a floor full of specialists out there. If they were better shouldn't it be 3-5 dynamic players on floor at all times.
The fact is, the game has catered more to offense. Because that's what sells tickets. Defensively, in the 80s and 90s, you could do stuff. And they wouldn't call it.
In that Celtics series it was clear that the Celtics doubled KD every time he got the ball and his team wasnt providing him any spacing that was the issue anyone who watched and know basketball seen that clear as day
Broussard talked about 90's defense, But I would love for people to see Jordan's first game against the Lakers. That defense would have destroyed KD, and Kyrie.
Say what you want about all of these different podcasts and the narratives and perspectives that they push but in my opinion DreamersPro is the only podcast with enough professional integrity to look at and explore every aspect of a particular subject or topic and release a video with honest dialogue about the subject without personal bias but more of a factual opinion on that subject.
Anyone who has seen the game for 3 decades or more knows the rule changes has shifted the game on the floor, either way I still rock with both Chris and Gil being they have some of the best insights on the game you can get
I agree...Rodman, Pippin, and Jordan wouldn't "guard" Durant...they'd leave him a teary, emotional, smear of goo on the court. Between the killer mindset and hand checking, Durant wouldn't be effective against any of them. The '90s NBA would humble a lot of today's players.
My question is, is every NBA ref allowing all teams to play 90's defence. If this were true across the board then i would believe Gilbert's point would be flawed.
In the 90s if you didn't play defense you better be an offensive juggernaut. I personally don't think today's athlete is better than yesterday's. The rules have allowed players today to play freely which is why you see centers bringing the ball up like point guards. Also there is next to no effort to play defense because the game is about our scoring. The defense today is non-existent.
My thing is why people didn’t notice this when u seen how KD lost to Memphis and when he played them it was hard every time Tony Allen was 6’4 KD my favorite player in the league but we know his flaws
I’ve been screaming it from the Rafter’s you got a unathletic guy in the joker who moves like Bill Laimbeer, with a better skill set tearing the league. Up what do you think MJ do if he ain’t got the big man’s hitting them coming through the middle he would keep going through the middle, taking more high percentage shot just like Shaq would do.
I agree 1000% because I watched that series nets vs Celtics and the Celtics were playing 90's defensive and getting very physical with KD and he's not used to that type of defense. But Denver played the same type of Defensive against the Lakers in the playoffs last year and swept them.
Kobe was the most skilled player of all time. What he could do at all 3 levels, on both ends was literally incomparable. Jordan didn’t take the other team’s best back court player every night on defense, he left that to Pippen. Kobe took that defensive assignment, while dominating on offense, every game. You have to understand the context behind Kobe’s numbers when considering him in the goat conversation

Nick thought he was slick, calling Kyrie overrated. Anything to make Lebron look better than he really is 🙄
There’s no more dead weight😂😂 killian hayes, jae crowder, thanaisis, cameron payne i can keep going. this guy don’t know basketball
Nba and nfl has the worse former players and the worse ppl who cover their sport.
In that Celtics series it was clear that the Celtics doubled KD every time he got the ball and his team wasnt providing him any spacing that was the issue anyone who watched and know basketball seen that clear as day
I guess Peja Stojakovic, Dell Curry, and Jeff Hornacek weren't specialists 🤦♂️
Broussard talked about 90's defense, But I would love for people to see Jordan's first game against the Lakers. That defense would have destroyed KD, and Kyrie.
They only responding because his podcast is doing numbers
Say what you want about all of these different podcasts and the narratives and perspectives that they push but in my opinion DreamersPro is the only podcast with enough professional integrity to look at and explore every aspect of a particular subject or topic and release a video with honest dialogue about the subject without personal bias but more of a factual opinion on that subject.
The question is why was Boston allow to play that type of defence against Kyrie and Kd if the league was not cheating🤔
Anyone who has seen the game for 3 decades or more knows the rule changes has shifted the game on the floor, either way I still rock with both Chris and Gil being they have some of the best insights on the game you can get
Brousard broke it down beautifully 💯
Someone should talk about all the Traveling in the Modern NBA
Epidemic
I agree...Rodman, Pippin, and Jordan wouldn't "guard" Durant...they'd leave him a teary, emotional, smear of goo on the court. Between the killer mindset and hand checking, Durant wouldn't be effective against any of them. The '90s NBA would humble a lot of today's players.
My question is, is every NBA ref allowing all teams to play 90's defence. If this were true across the board then i would believe Gilbert's point would be flawed.
Kobe is not as skilled a ball handler as Kyrie lol
In the 90s if you didn't play defense you better be an offensive juggernaut. I personally don't think today's athlete is better than yesterday's. The rules have allowed players today to play freely which is why you see centers bringing the ball up like point guards. Also there is next to no effort to play defense because the game is about our scoring. The defense today is non-existent.
Defense is about effort perioddd point blank
At what point do people stop taking Gil serious and realize he’s just Hot take Gil like the people on tv he despises. Lol
Gil contradicts himself often, he once argued mj wouldn't be great today because he played against bums 😂😂😂
You’re making it seem like Broussard responded to Gil’s comments he made this week. Chris said this over 2 years ago.
Anyone who thinks old players couldbt play today are crazy.
😂😂😂😂The Pootie Guy
why does ANYONE take gilbert arenas's opinions on detailed matters seriously?
like the sister said "nobody is guarding anybody" period
I agree 1000% because I watched that series nets vs Celtics and the Celtics were playing 90's defensive and getting very physical with KD and he's not used to that type of defense. But Denver played the same type of Defensive against the Lakers in the playoffs last year and swept them.
Kyrie Ivirin is "overrated" is just jaw dropping to me
Kobe was the most skilled player of all time.
