    Thank you so much for your videos. Your videos led me to the PRI website which led me to my local PRI certified therapist. Learning diaphragmatic breathing gave me an almost immediate relief from my life-long chronic shoulder pain. I'm still working on my hip pain with my therapist but I'm feeling very hopeful.

    I really felt the activation of my sleepy hamstrings in that exercise on the wall! The 'pulling down' of the heels and lifting of the butt created this feeling like a linear connection between the two, forming a triangle with the legs. Breathing-wise, I'm recently able to de-condition myself from doing _nothing_ with my abs when I breathe in. Now I put a slight hold in the stomach area as I breathe in and can finally feel the support it gives the diaphragm to press _downward_ ('massaging the organs' as they say). I then really feel the space above to let the air suck in to all the right places that you mention. Heaven!

    I need this information. I lived on my right side for a long time. This video has PRI techniques that teach your brain to use your left side again. It's life changing! Im practicing diaphragmatic breathing daily. It is a challenge, but after practicing daily, you can learn to relax and heal! It's really and truely complicated, and I could definitely use some help from a PRC. Sincerely, This video is the most helpful I've ever seen. I'm a long term chronic back pain and sciatica sufferer. I am also recovering from foot drop on my left side. Unstable left hip, lived in flexion for so long, but it is starting to turn when I breath and relax the right side... It's a painful recovery so get help and be careful everybody!

    Hi Neal my problem with many PRI practitioners is that they use the same few techniques (90-90, book under left hand , left stance) and they don’t test or retest they just assume everyone is in the same pattern and if you don’t have Success they’ll say your not doing the exercises right . I’ve seen 3 PRCs already and was unsuccessful…. Now I plan to see Mike Cantrell & James Anderson .

      At one point in the video I list all the reasons why someone may not have any success with these techniques (which are not a complete program). It’s not that the techniques don’t work, they just may not be right for the individual. Maybe you are in one of those situations and the PRC doesn’t realize it. Even if someone is PRC, they still may not have a higher level of understanding, especially when it comes to the cranium and hypermobility.

  • @cliffschumacher2804
    @cliffschumacher2804 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Very educational, thanks. Two questions: 1) In Exercise 1, why are you so specific on the small ball or toilet paper roll ? I can compress a 1/2 length light duty foam roller, activating my adductors, equally effectively. 2) In your Exercise 2, you are opening up the (smaller )left diaphragm. However, in Exercise 3, it seems like you are opening up the right, while compressing the left. What am I missing ?

    • @NealHallinan
      @NealHallinan  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I say ball or toilet paper because the legs need to actually internally rotate. Anything can be squeezed and if the object being squeezed is too wide, the legs won't adduct or IR properly. You may feel something, obviously, but the results are better when the brain actually senses the adduction and IR. It's the brain level we are working at. Every technique has me compressing the left side to dome the left diaphragm and expand the right ribcage. If I'm lateralized to my left and feel my left abs, that is what is occurring.

    • @asymmetricbeing
      @asymmetricbeing 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No, he didn't say it wrongly. For the ribcage, PRI has discovered that we as asymmetrical human beings have a tendency to compress our left posterior ribcage and our right anterior, lateral and apical ribcage. Now, one could lack the ability to breath into both the left and right posterior mediastinums (area on/in the posterior ribcage), which means you need to learn how to breath into your right posterior mediastinum as well. I don't think the technique and the side he is doing it on is the correct one for that. If you do it with the opposite arm and leg, maybe.

      @NealHallinan Thank you so much for your response! I’ve been learning about the R TMCC by watching your videos and reading your posts frequently. I really appreciate the work you do!
      So, the mandible should shift to the left.
      Since mine shifts to the right, could the right torsion theory be applicable (instead of left side bending)? Additionally, my head tilts more easily to the right and rotates more easily to the left.
      If the occiput is lower on the right, the temporal bone should be in external rotation on the right, causing the mandible to deviate to the right. Does this make sense, or is it too complex to understand online?
      Also my face seems bigger on the left half and more narrow/rounded on the right!😄

      When the hip flexors cramp, that is the left AIC pattern. Your brain is using your hip flexors to push down into the towel instead of the adductor. Most likely, some area of your neck/back/hip hasn't "let go" enough to allow for the correct movement to occur. It will not be helpful to continue doing it. The others still may help though.

    For instance, I have an eye turn in my left eye causing my eyes to not work together properly and my brain essentially "turns off" my left eye. As I understand it, there is potential to regain proper binocular vision but it would require intensive vision therapy over many months/years.

      Flared right ribs is sometimes a sign of a compensatory activity in the lower spine or neck area, or possibly loosening of the lower right back ligaments that connect your lower spine to the pelvis on the right side. You'll need to find a Postural Restoration Institute credentialed therapist to help you. It's not something you can really do on your own.

      @ i went to two different orthodontist, the first one said my occlusion was ok, the second one said the same but on a dental point of view. The normal orthodontist test for malocclusion said i had perfect occlusion on both side. I insisted saying that when i close my mouth the first sensation is just a touch on the left. So her supposition is that my issue is neuro muscular: in order to make my right molar touch i had to compensate with my neck. So we decide to go for a splint, which is basically a print of your lower dental arch. Now i have to wear it for a month so that my compensation reset, then they will see if i still have a perfect occlusion. If not, I’m probably going to wear another splint to correct my Jaw. None of pri practitioners were included because the are none in my country, just studied something by myself and hoping that the doctors will listen.
