I was 11 when 9/11 happened and as a young girl in the middle of America raised Southern Baptist, that was my only familiarity with Islam for a long time. Traveling really does open your mind. I am lucky that I had the opportunity through study and work to travel to 13 different countries. I spent a summer in Turkey and met many amazing Muslims on my trips. Still, it took me 10 years from first learning about Islam in Turkey to finally reverting to Islam mashallah. If someone asks me why I chose Islam or how I know it is true, it is difficult to answer. It was literally a millisecond in which my heart completely changed. I was reading the Quran and I knew that Islam was the truth and the way and I wept. I thank Allah sbt every day for saving me and guiding me to the right path.

That taxi driver planted the seed that would help this brother find Islam, yet he doesn’t even know it. Subhanallah. This just goes to show that, in this life, we will often never see the fruits of the good that we do, but we should never give up. As Muslim’s our actions, personalities and everyday interactions with others are the simplest and often sincerest form of Dawah. Always strive to be your best self, do good and be good to others, as in the afterlife, we will definitely see the fruits of our efforts. So far I watched several videos on the reverts in Towards Eternity and I found that many people came to learn about Islam through 9/11 masha'Allah. The governments conspired to damage the reputation of Islam and give it a bad name but more people joined Islam after the event. Allah is the best planner of all.

It is like a child growing up, yes you will make mistakes, but you will learn. No one is perfect so don't beat yourself down with the things in your life if they are not correct. أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَنْ بَدَّلَ دِينَهُ فَاقْتُلُوهُ " .
