Ghazal Untuk Rabiah has so much influence from middle eastern music. And the arrangement got some spain music styles in it.
This genre is called Ethnic Creative. It's a fusion of multiple music styles. It was once called Irama Malaysia (Malaysian Tune/ Traditional Malay song). However it was rebranded due to infusion of foreign music styles into our music style.

Ones of the southern pennisular malaysian traditional/folks music. Ghazal for Rabiah is par beyond any songs had recorded and composed in malaysia (my personal opinion 😎)..its masterpiece frm M.Nasir (malaysian music meister/sifu). This song is dedicated for Rabiah Al Adawiyyah (a sufi)born in Basra(Iran) the lyrics contained elements of philosophy and essence of love and sacrifice of a sufi high integrity. She was kidnapped at young age and sold as slaves.She becomed a deeply pious and caused her to be freed by his master. Rabbiah became a well-known Sufi member of Basrah City and many people came to her for clarification of religion. During her lifetime, not only famous for her deep religious knowledge, but also for her religious poetic writing ✌(source:google 😉)

Hi nephi, thanks for your comments and reaction. Jamal Abdillah is one of male singers forte for Ballad, Slow-Rock and as you see now Irama Malaysia, now called Ethnic Creative. This two song is popular around 90, but Seroja is earlier than Ghazal Untuk Rabiah. His type of singing is exclusive and there is no one in this 'new generation' male artist in Malaysia can able to achieved 'lenggok' like him; which make him lagend. He also in generation with M.Nasir (who you watch earlier duet with Siti Nurhaliza). FYI, Ghazal Untuk Rabiah is their duet song together and have winning AJL in year 1997. His only son, Osama Yamani also inherited his love for singing and now otw be an artist like his father. He also have been duet with his father in his father concert, but I don't quite remember which year and when. You must try watch Jamal & M.Nasir encounter in Ghazal Untuk Rabiah AJL and i bet you might get really2 goosebumps with their unity and harmony unique voice. Anyway, thanks and hope you and your girl will healthy too.
'Lenggok' is our language terms for 'bend your voice to be more melodious and eased soothing to our hearing like wave movement'. For traditional Malay song, this lenggok is critical for singers to have. Malay also used lenggok in Malay literature like pantun, syair and gurindam. Without lenggok, this will make the masterpiece become soulless and obviously people will able to differentiated it. That's why I said earlier, new generation male singer now not all achieved lenggok, as they not used with Malay literature. Around 2009, AJL have closed Irama Malaysia nomination (as it lack participation song and people that time more like Ballad song) and concentrated in Ballad and Rock/Slow-Rock/Hip Hop.

Nephi, for your info, Jamal, dato siti nurhaliza and some malaysian singer singing Malay traditional or arabic infused song in Qasidah and Tarannum way of vocalization (special voice technic of reciting Al-Quran). This type of vocal technic can only be heard among Muslim because its originated from that Qasidah or Tarannum vocal technic. Someone who is good in Qasidah and Tarannum voice technic normally can sing better.
