I've been sitting here thinking about Taylor Swift's 'folklore' and the triangle made of James and Betty and summer girl.... and now I'm diving into that album's proverbial big sister. I'm sitting here musing on the triangle of The Balladeer and Guitar Man and the Background Singer. So good.

There is an aching lilt in Lori's youthful yearning of the Balladeer... shedding tumble dryed tears from whiskey soaked years as if she were the "Lady Of Guadalupe"... standing statuesque at the Bluebird grieving for the Comets as they burn up under the spotlight while a lone tear trickles down her cheek to the beer soaked floor.

I think so
As the legendary Bob Harris (BBC -UK) says: 'One of the great songwriters of our time.' I anticipated the new album 'The Balladeer' the same way that I have the most recent from Bruce ('Western Stars') and Dylan ('Rough and Rowdy Ways'). And, of course, I haven't been disappointed; three great albums. There are few people that I have wanted to see live that I haven't yet seen and Lori is one of them. She truly deserves a bigger audience for her own albums and shows. I daydream that sometime Lori will headline her own shows in the UK. I have thought of the support act too -Mark Erelli.
