At 61, and being overweight most of my life, I have simply found out through trial and error, that I cannot eat sugar or carbs. I have dropped 30 Lbs in 2 months by eating less than 20 carbs a day and without sacrificing my coffee with heavy cream. We all have to make our own choices!! And if something works for you, DO IT!! Thank you everyone for sharing and inspiring!! 🤗🤗
Great idea! I used WW years ago and liked it, but because of my eating disorder history, I just become too obsessed with the tracking. I've been low carb for nearly a year and just keep it simple by eating
You inspired me! Joined WW last night... I have tried several times during menopause and really didn’t do well, but I have tried everything else too so I am giving it another go 😊!
I have been doing WW since the beginning of the year. I have done it several times before but my main motivation now is my health. What I love about WW is nothing is off limits and if you blow it one day, shake it off and start fresh the next day. There are work arounds and copy cats for everything. I snack on air popped popcorn, baked cheetos, etc. One of the things that really helps me is following other people on plan and connect on the app. Love to watch Nikki Gets Fit on TH-cam. I think your plan to combine with low carb sounds great. Good Luck to you!
I’m 66 and use to do Ww. Always hungry. I’m ketovore and don’t count calories etc. I eat meat, eggs, lettuce. Always full. Eat as much I need to stay full which is usually 1 meal. Love my way of eating and have been doing ketovore for 1 and 1/2 years! All my blood work is perfect. Triglycerides are 45 HDL is high, low glucose readings. (A1C)
Not sure I follow. HDL over 40 is GOOD. Triglycerides under 150mg/dl is also good. Low A1C is a potential cause for concern. Always being hungry is also concerning- you are not metabolically flexible. Have you tried fasting? Lettuce will not provide energy. Healthy fats like Avocados, Wild Salmon, Walnuts (never peanuts) can be good fuel sources. Make sure your eggs are pastured or you are eating corn and soy. I would, and do 2MAD- not OMAD. Water is the best drink. I consume no dairy, no whole grains, no fruit, limit lectins. It's been working great- lots of energy, clothes are falling off and ALL numbers are great. I don't diet or count points ever. I just eat correctly, rest well and exercise daily. Good luck to you.
I think you are wise to go low carb. I also have a strong history of diabetes in my family. I would also encourage you to try fasting with your low carb and WW. Even 12-14 hours a day of fasting can be so helpful for those of us over 50. Thanks for sharing!
You also just told my story, including type 2 diabetes being in my family. I could never stop at a serving size of cookies. My thought process is, well there are only 6 cookies left, so I better finish them off. I am trying to stay low carb on WW.
Thanks for sharing I am a diabetic type 2 I am 55 years old and obese weigh 370lbs. I do have underlying health issues. I do need to lose weight to improve my health and myself esteem so I can do more things and to live a longer happier life. Yes love salty things and know not supposed to have a lot of them.
Hi Bobbie - here’s another Bobby struggling with weight loss since puberty. Weight watchers has been the only diet with which I had lost 30 pounds… but that was 20 years ago when zero points food were limited. Since then they have changed, but I still have faith in the program because it’s flexibility. I signed up again - hoping to lose those 30 pounds once again! :) Let’s do it, my friend!

I love carbs too! Keto isn’t for me. I’ve done WW several times and was successful. Maybe, I’ll give it another try but with low carb. I’m tired of feeling unhealthy and tired all the time. I’ll be watching!
I am so happy I stumbled on this video. Five years ago I lost 75lbs on WW. I have gained it all back during these COVID years 😔. I’m struggling to find the motivation and the focus….. but started tracking today. I was wondering do you use up the daily points or just stick to the zero pint food?
Help. I too live carbs and I’ve tried every diet there is but not much luck. Can you share how much you’ve lost on this new low carb plan. Thank you for your help.
I might go back to WW and mix it with low carb. I have been doing the carnivore diet and counting calories with my Fitness Pal, but not losing any weight for a couple of months. I initially lost some weight and then stalled completely. Anyone experienced the same?

I retook the quiz but selected yes for the question about diabetes. It counts heavily on fruit. I’ll try it to see if I am successful. Your strategy is probably better though.
All the berries are really expensive. That is my issue! But I have changed my personal points according to what you showed me here and I have upped my points by 3! So instead of 17, I now have 20, I'll be able to satisfy my hunger now and not be "hungry".
They must have changed the food settings link. Because it does not show ‘want to try something new’. But I was able to lower the carb type zero foods by saying I have diabetes.

If you do the questions correctly it is, but if you are able to eat as much rice, quinoa and farro as you want that can't be low carb, especially when fruit is free with it.
Respectfully, you do not know nutrition or physiology. You should not be giving advice. You first need discipline for any healthy lifestyle to stick. I think that is the core of your issue. At least you gave a disclaimer that you are not a nutritionist- glad you did that. More specifically, "diabetes running in a family" is mostly a myth. It's about choices. Maybe many in your family made the wrong ones. Also, you do not get diabetes because you get fat. You get fat because you first had a metabolic disease/disorder/inflexibility, etc. When insulin cannot get into the cells, blocked by fats, and your beta cells in the pancreas make more (not less) insulin, you get diabetes. When you cannot lower blood sugar, you will store more fat in adipose tissues all over your body. Regarding food choices, I would NEVER eat Whole Grains, NO dairy, NO Brown Rice, absolutely never, ever Corn (puts weight on like crazy) and NO FRUIT sans a few occasional in season, local berries (lower sugar.) 70% of the fructose (sugar in fruit) goes right to the liver to be stored as FAT- lipogeneis (fat creation.) It is very, very bad stuff. Supermarket fruit is the worse- picked early, full of lectins and artificially ripened with ethylene gas. Fruit "DAILY" is TERRIBLE. Trust me. Beans should be pressure cooked to reduce their high Lectin content. At least you eat Avocados. That one FRUIT is great. A focus for anyone serious about health, IMO is not "points" but should be insulin resistance and metabolic flexibility. Fasting can be a very useful strategy for many. I do 18 hour fasts routinely which are easy to do. My diet is also outstanding. My clothes are falling off of me, which was not even my goal. Regular exercise is another important consideration...which I do daily as well. Resistance training, HIIT and simply walking all helps. Keep stress low and get good rest. This is how you GET HEALTHY. Don't just focus on weight. You can be very thin and very sick- metabolically unhealthy like the 88% of Americans are. Conversely, you can be somewhat heavy, yet metabolically fit. When you are M. Fit, you are not constantly crashing- getting tired and craving carbs. Your body is able to switch (flexible) and use ketones for fuel. Do yourself a huge favor and read The Plant Paradox. Get a good nutritionist in your corner. To your credit, some of your choices were not terrible- some were. You are on your way but you really need to get serious now- before it's too late. I won't go into my background but I do know exactly what I am talking about.
@@pattyc2324 Self. Trial through fire. I suffered two major health illnesses (MY wake up call.) I became passionate about healing myself- which I mostly have via nutrition. That said, I consulted with numerous M.D.s (didn't knw much), several PhD's (knew more) and I have read several great books. I take in a lot of info., do a ton of research and vet out what makes common sense. In the end, it's not rocket science but it can be tricky and easy to make the wrong choices if you haven't really learned the science. You might know what to eat, but you really need to know the WHY as well if you want it to stick. Fasting is also important as is know what NOT to eat.
@@pattyc2324 I suppose you are right. I never mean to make anyone feel bad however I do not like excuses and a lack of motivation. Health is not about data- it's about a person deciding they are going to get healthy- period. Some in here simply want to make videos and get views- don't lose sight of that. Honestly, I just view health as a war. I don't sugar coat things because I want people to get healthy- get off the drugs which are processed foods. 88% of Americans are metabolically unhealthy. I don't apologize for caring. I really do hope she is able to find her solution- and I am sure she is a very nice woman. The fact remains, she has been struggling for many years. This effects her and her family. It frustrates me that she takes it so casually- smiling and stating how she loves her salt and sugar. She won't love diabetes. I take health very seriously. As direct as I was, honestly, I am probably the only person in here who could help her the most...though again, I am not a nutritionist or doctor and this is not advise. You get my point I am sure. Most people have no clue how rough their lives can be. I mean, you can't get out of bed or complete a thought kind of rough. I've had a full serving of that- not being able to tie your shoes. Yes, it has lit a fire under me. I see that big train coming towards people- and they are clueless. They will sober up years from now in their doctors office with their inevitable diagnosis. The body can't take it for too long. What they feel and see today is only the tip of the iceberg. Insulin resistance, auto-immune and metabolic dis-ease happens daily to people. The majority of the time, people can take control of this through nutrition- not pills, or points or fads of the month. Again, I appreciate your point and will try to be a little nicer. I have to say though, I never insulted her- simply stated facts. I gave her the respect of being direct. How that is interpreted is up to her. I wish everyone well- but they have to want to be healthy. Wishes alone won't do it.

@@MOAB-UT I just believe in supporting anyone who is working on improving their nutrition. Everyone works on this in there own time. Certain comments would discourage me if they were directed at me. I prefer to offer positive support and encouragement.
Thank you for this!!
