Thomas Golubić was the music supervisor for it, and Better Call Saul, and I *think* El Camino too. I can't think of a time he ever dropped the ball with any of his song choices either. Nailed it each time.
I honestly nearly cried in this song. The story of Jesse and everything he’s been through just makes my eyes water. It’s fiction and a film but it’s incredible. I’ve watched el Camino a long time ago and have listened to this song again and it’s just amazing
I love Breaking Bad but there are some shows that can be compared to BB such as Sopranos (The OG), The Wire. They share some simmilarities and good at their own fields but imo Sopranos is pretty much the best.
@@ZzDarkShadowKnightzZ I tried to watch the Wire knowing it is mostly considered better than BB, but couldn't even watch the first ep bcs it looked so much as those CSI or Law & Order series type of thing. Probably I'm wrong since I didn't keep watching, but I like when the script focus on essencial events that makes the characters develop their own personality in a way that we couldn't recognize them easily, as BB accomplished.
In a time when all of my favorite shows are going to shit, even GoT somehow, the one writer I know I can rely on is Vince Gilligan. No hope necessary, I KNOW it's going to be good.
Well I get high and I get low Oh, but that's the way These things go I saw my face in the mirror Though I know I've changed Though I look Much the same I found grace in the black water bathe my soul And tell my heart I told you so I like fate in the lion's cage And wait for my time to come But I'm begging please I need this so More than you'll ever know Oh well I get high and I get low Oh, but that's the way These things go I saw my face in the mirror And though I know I've changed Though it looks Much the same I found grace in the black water bathe my soul And tell my heart I told you so
Frothy Jazz it doesn't matter if you're just one person. If they saw your comment, they would appreciate it. You're a fan who felt the need to express themself
Breaking Bad has always had a great knack in finding the most perfect songs to accompany certain scenes, and the choice of this song for El Camino is just genius. This song cannot fit Jesse any better, and no other song can fit Jesse any better than this song. I love it. I'm glad to be introduced to it.
I come back to this song whenever im upset it really is comforting seeing how someobe else can feel the exact emotions in the same way I feel in the song.
I can't get enough of this song. Absolutely beautiful and uplifting. What a wonderful voice you have there, Reuben. Imho, THIS IS YOUR BEST SINGLE TO DATE. Only wish this one was at least 10 minutes longer! Fellow Canadians (from Alberta), can't wait to hear what's coming next for you, Reuben And The Dark. Waiting impatiently. lol Go RATD!
You guys really rock with those poetic lyrics, warmful harmonies and impactful melodies! Black water takes me into my head checking me out as things commonly go this way: I get high, I get low...
Here's the lyrics: Well I get high and I get low Oh, but that's the way These things go I saw my face in the mirror Though I know I've changed Though I look Much the same I found grace in the black water bathe my soul And tell my heart I told you so I like fate in the lion's cage And wait for my time to come But I'm begging please I need this so More than you'll ever know Oh well I get high and I get low Oh, but that's the way These things go I saw my face in the mirror And though I know I've changed Though it looks Much the same I found grace in the black water bathe my soul And tell my heart I told you so
The Best I feel(look) like bait in the lion's cage, and I wait for my time to come. (as in he feels like a piece of meat waiting to be eaten and there is nothing to do about it)
man poor Jesse look what he went through, almost 8 months in total hell being humiliated and tortured mentally and physically, there's no way not to like him and not root for him to get along, I'm glad he had a good ending (until now it was the best thing)
Amazing song, as a drug addict with plenty of PTSD (combat vet, extreme violence, then coming todepend on narcotics for emotional and physical pain) and a huge BrBa fan this song really just gets me.
What Walter would be feeling if he miraculously lived, rather than the bullet killing him, he would probably be suffering, just trying to hide, as if to remove himself from the face of the earth, I think this song captures this
Vince Gilligan is good in take something, that nobody knew, and make it famous... This guy is unbelievable! I can't wait no more to watch El Camino. This music is on my head and i can't forget it. Congratulations Reuben!
Loving Reuben and the Dark! I've learned that music is my religion and RATD's songs reach deep down inside me and resonate within my soul! I listen to other songs but I keep coming back to Reuben! You've certainly touched this woman's heart! Thank you and all the best in the future! XOXOX
My favorite quote of the hole breaking bad series... "All the people we've killed and you don't believe there's a hell. We're pretty much going there, but I'm not gunna lie down until I get there."
I wasn’t able to watch breaking bad as it came out(from when it was released) I’ve watched so many movies and shows and amazing ones at that and still breaking bad is one of the best acted, best shot, best written just overall one of the best shows I’ve ever watched and better call Saul is up there with it. I cried when it finished because I knew it had ended and I’ll cry for better call Saul too
This is basically the whole story of Jesse Pinkman in one song. Vince Gilligan is a master of storytelling, proof in the song he picks for his heroes. Just as El Paso tells the story of Walter White, Black Water is the ultimate synopsis for Jesse Pinkman.
When you're just laying in bed depressed and you hear him say "I like fate in the lions cage and wait for my time to come" and you just wish life could just get better for you already trying to keep that little hope alive
Who came here for EL CAMINO? this is so beautiful, i loved the movie, that was the best movie:3 Im so happy with the end of Jesse, he is already happy and mee too:)
came here from the Dr Doolittle theme song .. but watched El Camino the other night and wondered where it's theme song came from .. and BOOOM here it is !!!!
Just found this song through the El Camino trailer. It's great

Like the whistle from truth by alex ebert. So recognizable
and the best
Nah. It’s great but it’s not the most
*This accompanies the Breaking Bad trailer so beautifully.*
Nearly shed a tear listening to this along with the El Camino trailer. Goes so well with Jesse's story.
Same. It's perfect

“Say the line! Nothing happens until I hear you say it - Say YOU want this!”
“I want this.”
“…Then do it yourself.”
At first started reading this like the simpsons "Say the line, Bart" meme
Saddest departure between two brothers.
"We had a good thing, Walter!" - Mike
Breaking Bad is the absoulte greatest. Nothing compares. I hope the same will be said about El Camino...

My new favorite song, I don't know why..
Vince Gilligan, that's why.
Because you get high and you get low?
Me either
Because it’s hauntingly beautiful...
Because it's true
This probably means nothing to you, as I am only one person. But you guys are easily my new favorite band.

This was a song i used as a depression song for April to August. So I agree it’s a good song.
