Played for an entire Saturday and made it to the last main world and begged Dad not to turn off my PS1 so I could continue the next day since we didn't have a memory card. He was worried the thing was gonna overheat. We got a memory card the next day instead 😆
My favorite homeworld. I had my jaw dropped as a little kid when I reached it, I thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen lol, especially the sky.

Maybe this is just the nostalgia speaking, but this one feels really emotional to me for some reason, especially when Stewart hits those high notes! It feels so fitting and dream-like for lack of a better word.

UndyingWladeslaus he's an Artisans dragon. But yeah, he could have a similar appearance to a Dreamweaver. After all, even a couple dragons you rescue from the levels in this home world look more like Beast Makers in body and horn shapes. Maybe in each home world there could be a dragon or two that decided to live with another group than their native group? Lol. (Just speaking hypothetically here ofc)
I also like to believe that Spyro's parents were from different realms. His father might've been from Artisans, while his mother may have been a Dream Weaver. Or perhaps his aggressive, hotheaded attitude comes from him potentially being part Peace Keeper. Would explain how almost every dragon in that realm knows his name.
It doesn't even fit with ITSELF like other worlds do. No worlds have the same types of enemies. It's so inconsistent which fits the bizarre dream theme. :)
@@laurenajkirby I feel like it was definitely tacked on later in development. If I am not mistaken the enemies in Jacques were one of the last enemies they made in the game. They actually couldn't figure out what to make and so they came up with something really weird lol.
While Cloud Cukoo Land in Banjo-Tooie was like a more trippy and more crazy take on Dream Weavers it was nowhere near as fun. DW's music alone is such a blast, the remake's version is my favorite world in the game.
This is not to be a total ass...but hear me out. This world totally represents autism. The enemies in the Dream Weavers home world live in a place where literally anything is possible that they can make up in their head. Autistic children tend to actually be much smarter than the average human being, it's just that their comprehension in the human language is usually not on par in their first experience with the genetic disease. In the Dream Weavers world, the enemies speak total nonsense and do whatever the hell they want, and they seem to do it all in a very smart way. They are able to attack you with things that totally won't exist in any world, and not just in the game, but in general. A device that can change the size and mass of an object as soon as a laser beam hits the target? Immortal enemies that when hit give a small amount of time to perform an action before being annoying again? Wacky hairstyle and different sizes suggesting that they are too busy "dreaming" to properly attend to themselves? Sudden wacky noises when confronted with something they don't like? Brute strength when absolutely pissed off? You can't tell me these guys aren't based off of autism. Again, this is in no way supposed to offend anyone, just thought of this while playing, and I paused the game and thought about it since I thought it was interesting on the way they act.
This music isn't complete without those flailing enemies going "hublububluwababluh!"

I remember the first time I took out one of those metal guys and I cracked up for about 5 minutes after hearing the noise they made.
I sighed when I got to this level fully well knowing it was the end of the beginning but not beginning of the end.
When I get here, this is when I start losing my patience. Although, after I clear Haunted Towers 100%, I'm fine
