With this level, I saw the enemies as small animals and was ready for it. When they got big in the dark, I was like “NOPENOPENOPENOPE!!!!!!!” Oh the memories!
I’m glad that the Reignited version has an option to switch to the original soundtrack, because the newer tracks, while still good, just don’t capture the same kind of vibe for me.
Those big red dogs scared me as a kid and gave me night terrors… I was standing on a rainbow road. I couldn’t move I saw them in the distance heard the stomping footsteps and saw them get closer and closer….

Every level in this game had a special concept behind it, most of the time with unique enemies just for it. It was soo cool, too bad they didnt have much in terms of platforming challenges.
The big enemies are legit scary looking. They did a great job with them in the reignited trilogy, i still think the big turtle in the classic looks better. I always used to think it was a big skunk monster though.
I just love how they made this one sound so. Daring and adventurous and- and- 😅 Ahhhh!! I can’t explain it! Cannot wait for November!! (Again I’m getting it for Christmas but still.)
Now THIS place I hated. Those tortoises in the dark, getting caught in crossfire, the crisscrossing glides. They did well referencing the concept of being "lost in the dark" inside a huge building/landscape. They did too well.
Giordan Diodato I didn't mean it was difficult, just that the level designers did a thorough job mixing all the greatest childhood fears into 1 game are.
This was my favorite level as a kid. Still is. But I did hate it when the turtles and puppies turned big, it made the level more challenging. Those damn fools lol. 😅
After playing Dying Light all I can say is that the dogs in this level are like the Volatiles from Dying Light - Harmless and cowardly in the light, but in the dark? Haha, nope.

My favorite part is when the turtle spits fire at me and I dodge it so it can break open a treasure chest instead.
