theory: anjanath is really a dwarf island version of deviljho think about it! this land mass is unusually small for the "new world" consisting of 5 biomes (6 if you count the great valley) that are usually on top/below one another, not enough room to go around. although anjanath may be pink, what is devilijho's enraged state? red, previous scars turn red. and if you look closely at anjanath's jaw, it kind of resembles that of devilijho's doesn't it? only that it has less teeth. and the fire breath, think of it as devilijho's projectile organ (or whatever they call it really) simply relocating and mixing therefore, they can have their own territorial markings. So this is what I imagine what it looked like when deviljho evolved into anjanath: as the new world eventually split off from the old world, populations of deviljho were stuck on the retreating landmass, while others stayed in the old world. Because there wasn't enough room to go around, these dwarf deviljhos shrunk in size, and their rage colors were now used as a threat display and a mating display. They gained several enhancements to help them navigate in this uneven-ground jungle, they gained gained feathers to protect themselves, still retaining the now nearly vestigial Helicoprion like replacement set only that it has become less predominant, as they become less hungry in order to ensure more food stays around, and the pseudo wings.. Help them navigate, yes, it helps them navigate, there isn't a lot of even ground in this jungle, so it helps them get around and traverse their territory more while other animals follow a certain navigational path into the clearings & back, or simply just stay in the clearings, where they can move better, and see predators better. Of course, this isn't the case for pukei-pukei, rathalos, various smaller winged animals and tobi-kadachi, who all have wind powered adaptations to navigate better in the jungle But, this makes anjanath the predator second in place only to rathalos, who have migrated from the old world in search of a new home. This is just a theory, tell me what you think below!

I really don't see this. Deviljho has no need to adapt to a new environment. That's not in its nature, it's a nomad, it walks from ecosystem to ecosystem and eats and hunts until it's completely exhausted the food source. Not to mention that by the time in Iceborne we see Deviljhos thrive in the New World, with seemingly no trouble, exactly like in the old world. In your design Deviljho is essentially evolving backwards. Making itself less powerful, less durable and more less able to compete with the occasional Elder Dragon as well as Ratalos.
I just have to say, your storytelling is so entrancing. I could sit and listen to you talk about lore for hours on end. Thank you for the amazing content, and keep up the incredible work!

Deviljho is always a force to be reckoned with, since it's first appearance in the Deserted Island, since the time when there's no morphing weapon except one. It's devilish look send chill to everyone, except for those who brave enough or have strange fetish. When deviljho is at the very hungry state and exhausted, from its mouth comes saliva. This saliva is very dangerous, because it weakens the enemy that dare to touch it, or carelessly get biten by the green monster. Like most brute wyvern, it has solid and strong body, but it is weak to ailments. One of this beast is also known as the world eater. A very big deviljho that with its size alone can make anyone' spirit diminish before even facing this always hungry monstrosity. In the world of strong hunters, where deviljho is nothing but a child's play and the hunters are the very monster of the world, this green brute wyvern is called by it's hillarious nicknames : cucumber and pickle} Wanted to add some information, but i think i failed (-_-).

(My girlfriend compared it to an animal documentary) Once Deviljho is released it would be interesting if you followed up on this video and the others with more observations on things like Turf Wars, unnatural environments (Wildspire Waste Anja), and one on endemic life. Thinking about the lore of Deviljho, I can see it hunting inexperienced elder dragons... It's breath has much more dragon element than a hunter's weapon, so it'd shut down the E.D.'s aura. A fight would go either way, depending on if Jho gets the jump on them or not.
One thing I'd love to see you do a lore vid on is the Caedeus, one of the most docile beasts of the world of Monster Hunter... At least till you intrude on it's nest.

as much as i want this to be real sadly that list is fake the only list that has any shred of legitimacy was leak from november 2017 which correctly named all monsters in the game and if we go by that list we will only get lunastra,alatreon,oroshi kirin,deviljho and 1 unknown monster named treasure dragon as DLC which all of them probably going to be released before the PC release which makes sense because those monsters are similar in terms of mechanic to current roster lunastra is female version of teostra so they don't need to tweak much, oroshi kirin is just kirin with ice element, and alatreon walking animation is identical to vaal hazak, the only unique one is deviljho and that unknown monsters this is the link to that leak list:imgur.com/gallery/Tdulu
should have covered how it's able to dig and climb with it's jaw. a lesser known fact about Deviljho is that when they're not enraged and there's a small reprieve of their ravenous gluttony and not in a hunting state, they excrete a pheromone that's to signal to other Deviljho that it's in a relaxed state and is of no threat to them. Meaning Deviljho use pheromones to communicate with other of it's species. These same Pheromones Deviljho use to signal their passiveness to each other it may also be a way to mark their territory they claim as their meals, to mark where food is for maybe other Deviljho, mating, and potentially in a rare case, instances of Deviljho as pack hunters.
So basically the Incredible Hulk of Monster Hunter. But the angrier it gets to make itself stronger and bigger; it's practically killing itself and destroying it's body in the process.
Ok. It's a massive T Rex like monster that eats literally anything it wants. It picks and wins fights with some of the biggest predators, leaving scars on its body. Like the hulk, it grows stronger and larger when it's angry. Like godzilla, it can breath energy and thus death ontop of its enemies. What's terrifying is that it can rip open old wounds by getting angry, and then leak the energies out of the old wounds as well. What kind of madness is this? This creature is more likely to kill itself than anything else!
His scares don't leak energy it is in fact those big surrow around his jaws that extend when he's enraged that leak energy that behavior is only seen on the savage Deviljho which is a Picklejho that didn't eat for a while because in MH3u it was called in french (because I'm french, nobody cares about me, anyway...) Facing this beast without the correct weapons, solo (And with no Iceborne installed) is a nightmare. I still remember the first time I've seen it, underestimated it until I got one-shot

After watching this video, I can't help but notice that the deviljho is similar to the skullcrawlers from Legendary's Monsterverse. I mean, both are always hungry and both are extremely aggressive apex predators.

Mind you, the best Deviljho is one with a saddle, kid and Felyne on its back and the ability to inflict Blastblight with its rear end. Unfortunately I don't have one of those, because while wild Deviljhos can turn up anywhere, I have not yet retrieved a single Deviljho egg in Monster Hunter Stories yet, and so cannot channel the Emerald Congalala's gene to a Deviljho (adding that gene to a Monstie teaches the Monstie how to use the fart attack of the Emerald Congalala), nor can I channel the Deviljho gene to another Monstie to teach it Spread Dragon Breath, which is the black lightning/laser breath of the Deviljho, and one of the few multi-target attacks in the game.
+Strawfoot thanks for replying most people don't and I was thinking if you could do a video about all the veteran hunters that were in previous games and are now in world but either way ill like your videos because you have a good story telling voice and it makes it easier to immerse into the lore.
No problem, I make a serious effort to reply to every comment, I'm sure I've let a few slip through the cracks from time to time but I give it my best. As far as I know the only hunter in MH World who has appeared in a previous game is the Excitable A-lister who is also the Ace Cadet from MH4U. I covered him in my Kushala Daora video. If you have noticed any others let me know and I'll be sure to include them in future videos. The ship "Argosy" has also appeared in previous games but the crew seems to have been replaced (maybe a mutiny?) I hope the old captain and Neko the cat are okay!

If you capture it and talk to the go getters researcher. He will say that the Bazelguese in the new world evolved differently than the ones in the old world. Whatever that means.
Another thing about the Deviljho it doesn’t just eat it’s own tail it will even go as far as eating it’s own kin/children which is pretty terrifying
This is so great! Each Lore video you made is incredibly detailed. (My girlfriend compared it to an animal documentary) Once Deviljho is released it would be interesting if you followed up on this video and the others with more observations on things like Turf Wars, unnatural environments (Wildspire Waste Anja), and one on endemic life. Thinking about the lore of Deviljho, I can see it hunting inexperienced elder dragons... It's breath has much more dragon element than a hunter's weapon, so it'd shut down the E.D.'s aura. A fight would go either way, depending on if Jho gets the jump on them or not.

as much as i want this to be real sadly that list is fake
the only list that has any shred of legitimacy was leak from november 2017 which correctly named all monsters in the game
and if we go by that list we will only get lunastra,alatreon,oroshi kirin,deviljho and 1 unknown monster named treasure dragon as DLC which all of them probably going to be released before the PC release
which makes sense because those monsters are similar in terms of mechanic to current roster
lunastra is female version of teostra so they don't need to tweak much, oroshi kirin is just kirin with ice element, and alatreon walking animation is identical to vaal hazak, the only unique one is deviljho and that unknown monsters

a lesser known fact about Deviljho is that when they're not enraged and there's a small reprieve of their ravenous gluttony and not in a hunting state, they excrete a pheromone that's to signal to other Deviljho that it's in a relaxed state and is of no threat to them. Meaning Deviljho use pheromones to communicate with other of it's species.
These same Pheromones Deviljho use to signal their passiveness to each other it may also be a way to mark their territory they claim as their meals, to mark where food is for maybe other Deviljho, mating, and potentially in a rare case, instances of Deviljho as pack hunters.
So basically the Incredible Hulk of Monster Hunter. But the angrier it gets to make itself stronger and bigger; it's practically killing itself and destroying it's body in the process.
Little does he know Deviljho have migrated to the new world in search of new food

It's a massive T Rex like monster that eats literally anything it wants. It picks and wins fights with some of the biggest predators, leaving scars on its body. Like the hulk, it grows stronger and larger when it's angry. Like godzilla, it can breath energy and thus death ontop of its enemies.
What's terrifying is that it can rip open old wounds by getting angry, and then leak the energies out of the old wounds as well. What kind of madness is this? This creature is more likely to kill itself than anything else!
His scares don't leak energy it is in fact those big surrow around his jaws that extend when he's enraged that leak energy that behavior is only seen on the savage Deviljho which is a Picklejho that didn't eat for a while because in MH3u it was called in french (because I'm french, nobody cares about me, anyway...) ''starving Deviljho''
The Deviljho is basically Monster Hunter’s Godzilla.

After watching this video, I can't help but notice that the deviljho is similar to the skullcrawlers from Legendary's Monsterverse. I mean, both are always hungry and both are extremely aggressive apex predators.

Mind you, the best Deviljho is one with a saddle, kid and Felyne on its back and the ability to inflict Blastblight with its rear end. Unfortunately I don't have one of those, because while wild Deviljhos can turn up anywhere, I have not yet retrieved a single Deviljho egg in Monster Hunter Stories yet, and so cannot channel the Emerald Congalala's gene to a Deviljho (adding that gene to a Monstie teaches the Monstie how to use the fart attack of the Emerald Congalala), nor can I channel the Deviljho gene to another Monstie to teach it Spread Dragon Breath, which is the black lightning/laser breath of the Deviljho, and one of the few multi-target attacks in the game.
Yeah, I love stories, I just finally got a Jho egg last week. Such a great game. I didn't think of giving him Congalala's ability, that would be fun.
So hyped for deviljho right now. Hopes its gonna be a great battle

No problem, I make a serious effort to reply to every comment, I'm sure I've let a few slip through the cracks from time to time but I give it my best. As far as I know the only hunter in MH World who has appeared in a previous game is the Excitable A-lister who is also the Ace Cadet from MH4U. I covered him in my Kushala Daora video. If you have noticed any others let me know and I'll be sure to include them in future videos. The ship "Argosy" has also appeared in previous games but the crew seems to have been replaced (maybe a mutiny?) I hope the old captain and Neko the cat are okay!
