Your dress is lovely! I bet it is so comfortable to wear this time of year. I finally cut out my Koko Beall dress. This new bee fabric was going to be just as much a problem pattern matching as the last one (same manufacturer), so I decided to cut it out on the fold and add an exposed lace zipper to the front instead of the placket. I've got the zipper finished. I cut the back on the fold, so I added some casing and elastic to the center back waistline to nip in a bit instead of darts. I have to sew the shoulders and finishes the neckline facing. My pockets are sewn to the sides, but I still need to sew the side seams as well. I'll baste them first and do a try on. I hope my dress fits as well as yours! I hope your grandson is doing well and you are finding ways to stay creative as you helping with him.
Thank you! I went over to check out your channel. So you love heirloom sewing as much as I do. I loved seeing some of your makes❤️ I will watch some a little later today. Grandson is having surgery today.
I’m here because of Jen’s suggestion to visit you on her channel. Your channel looks very nice and I’m subscribing! I love Koko Beal’s patterns, I have quite a few a few and I do have this one, I have not made it but seeing how well yours came out, maybe next spring as I’m in Nebraska and it’s fixing to get cold here! I also love buttons ! I have my mother’s and grandmother’s button jar, and my own! I have been known to cut buttons off garments that are unsalvageable. I have a hard time finding new buttons that are nice.
@@amierikke6225 Thank you for watching. I really love that dress. It’s a great pattern. I salvage buttons too because buttons are either way expensive or difficult to find. Mostly, we have quilt supply stores here. I grew up with fashion fabric stores close at hand; Hancock Fabrics of Paducah was fashion fabric first. Then the quilt show changed everything. I sort my buttons by color. I just went through another box I found. I get little zip bags at Michael’s in jewelry section to use for buttons. It makes it easier to locate color I need. The colors are placed together in small stackable boxes.
@@deborahmitchell8702 Thank you for watching and subscribing! So nice to hear from new subscribers. I love the top. It would make a great dress, I’d have to add length to skirt.
Hey Cheryl. Love the pattern!
@@bernadineanderson2679 TY and I’m looking so forward to our trip up north! I’m excited to see Kelly too😊

Hey Cheryl!! It’s Myra Hook. Great video. I use to see but too many irons in the fire. I just started a TH-cam channel. Only one video so far lol.

Lovely dress. I get buttons at Hobby Lobby, have you checked there?
@@dianemontavon5670 Yes, but my HL only sells neutral colors now. They’ve really scaled back.
