House of the Dragon is HBO's apology to the fans and their demonstration of good faith and capability. This show sets a new benchmark for television. You can just tell everyone involved had so much fun making this show.
Adaptation wise HotD also has a huge advantage because Fire and Blood is being told from an unreliable narrator. An in-world Maester who tries to make sense of the history. This leaves tons of gaps and ambiguities for the show to get the coolest clarifications on what really happened.
It’s not an apology.
It’s just for the ones who are not delusional enough to still stubbornly against seeing this prequel…
Nobody ever forced anyone into buying the books of GRR Martin or watching GOT in the first place.
I’ve seen many TH-camrs who told everyone “never again” and “forced” themselves to watch HOTD and playing dumb afterwards as they never said anything against the first series.
Both G RR Martin and HBO were displeased with the way the show fizzled out due to the showrunners, who held exclusive rights, going off to produce a Star Wars trilogy that ended up never happening. It's okay to say they botched the landing. And it makes sense for HBO to invest heavily into repairing their IP.

Okay not to comment twice but I just want to say how I SQUEALED with excitement at you reading a passage from Euron. He's SO SCARY in the books, like the Forsaken chapter from Winds absolutely SHOOK me. Love it

I'm SO STOKED you gave this a try, I'm very much a huge fan of the books, I've read them all front to back no joke over a hundred times. I don't like D&Ds game of thrones, even the early seasons that people consider to be good, I just do not care for them. This show? YES. This show GETS IT. It's not perfect, but most of my issues with it are nitpicky and ultimately not at all important. If you were mad at D&D for ruining game of thrones but you love Martin's work, I think you'll really love what HotD has to offer. Subbed and watching!!!
Don't worry alot of us found ourselves rooting for rhaenyra and daemon. U ought to see all the videos of them on you tube
I’m so happy you’re putting this show on your channel. GOT was the greatest show ever until it wasn’t. I refuse to watch anything that D&D is involved with. That being said, this show is spectacular in my opinion. The first season is even better the second time you watch it. It hits different after you know the characters just like GOT. Again, super excited to watch your reactions to this!

Loved the vid. Seeing as there are zero dragons alive 172 years later in GoT which you have obviously seen, there are going to be a lot of dragon deaths :( They didnt disappear by magic. The people deaths whatever, its a bloodbath. But hey, maybe they all die of old age!
Oh and since you admitted that you cave in to repeated nagging. I think you would like The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. It's Game of Thrones but with puppets.
