Thanks for the video. Just what I'm looking for. I'm taking my Prius for a stroll from Washington state to Arizona and back. The trick is to find a spot an hour or two before it gets dark. I remember that in past adventures.
Been doing what you just described for a while now and I absolutely love it. So far I have Jeep camped… Chaco Canyon, Shiprock, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Mojave National Preserve, Big Bend National Park, Palo Duro Canyon and all points in between. really a nice change..........when i more or less quit after 20 yrs. of travelling , i started watching utoob vids out of nostalgia for the S.W. it drove me nuts , all the vanlifers giving out the locations of my hiding spots , which i'd found the way you do , turn left up the ungated dirt road.....now the BIG shiny motorhomes show up where they oughtn't to be , roll out the astroturf , and bitch about cell service........ oh well , just wanted to say good on you for giving the REAL advice...i still refuse to use the apps and google maps, etc. that's why i ran away in the first place , to get away from this crap

@@paulwelkinsdiy yeah I usually drive from 6-7am till around 1 pm. That way I have plenty of time to find camping.
