Best way to dodge missles;
Step 1- choose plane, enter match
Step 2- choose loadout
Step 3- wait a few minutes until half the enemy team dies
Step 4- take off and enter airspace and fight an enemy that has a few missles at most left
LMAO I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT
that's what I do on the av8b, i basically fly sideways instantly notching any incoming missile and then enter when they're all gunfighting.
Or just fly zig zag, long lefts and long rights. It drains all the missiles of any energy. Also, notching has worked 95% of the time when at distances of 12km or more. No need to be scared of them.
TTAA is better cause the chaos don’t cease until the match ends

I did the same thing with Yak-141 and R-27s about one year ago. This trick makes players mad if done in sim battles
Notching is such a DCS'ism it's really annoying that WT implemented it for these modern missiles. MPRF radars especially (like that in the seeker of the amraam) are especially resilient to "notching" because they filter in both the frequency and time domain meaning in order for something to be clutter it has to have both the same range and doppler as the target and be stronger than the target to throw off the guidance.

my favorite way to deal with long range Fox 3 shots is just do a 180° turn and go low, eventually the missile will get tired

At least you get the track and launch warnings by the thing you need to notch in that situation :>
But the range will be reduced alot, since you are standing still and firing missiles on their own power. Nvm, enjoyed again, as always!
Yep, you can only launch at people around ~11km away, still works though! No Fox-2s can go this far, the only stuff that could hit you at this range are ATGMs :]
