Yeah I don’t get that at all. People make contributions and it goes 100% to Mokko. Matthew spends his own money to travel from Canada to Jamaica, films, then spends like 15 hours editing each video. It’s a lot of work to make good videos!
Greetings from Port Mourant, Guyana. We make something similar to this boyo here. It's called conki : made with pumpkin, black pepper to taste and salt and sugar to taste. It's wrapped in banana leaves and tied with dried straps made from banana leaves. It's immersed into a pot of boiling water and boil until cooked. It's a traditional African dish known as conki. Best of luck Matthew and Ras Mokko. I am always looking at your videos. Nuff respect from Guyana.

Ras Kitchen is always both entertaining and educational. Just now I was taken by surprise when Ras Mokko called the mixture BOJO. In Surinam we also have a cake called boyo, only it is not made with sweet potato but with grated casava and usually raisins, perhaps a luxury version of the same thing? This is so cool! Thanks for posting! Jah Bless!
Looks good. Just got back from Jamaica Friday night after two weeks. I got married to a beautiful Jamaican beauty. She made me achee and salt fish. Fish head soup, and curried chicken, and more. I loved it. I love Jamaica!
Yoo, we got the same exact dish in the country both my parents are from, called Surinam. It's located on top of Brazil, between the two Guyana's. They call it bojo there lol. I'm amazed by the fact that they're not the only country with that dish, but it's not really surprising actually, since the people, and especially the creole, are (obviously) culturally more connected with the Caribbean than the South-American.

Both Guyana and Suriname are geographically south American but historically, culturally and politically (to some extent) caribbean.
