Yeah same, I've only heard the 2011 Red Bull at a Top Gear event. The downshifts were pretty nice, with the allowance of the blown diffuser back then. Still, the n/a V8 sound was amazing up close and hearing fly past going 290Kmph + but, to know the V10 tops that, it's just unimaginable. It's a shame really... :(
I did..Magny cours France GP 99 and 2000,Adélaïde hairpin👍👍 and free practice 2005 in the Pit straight💪👍😇😮😮❤️ just woah!!! Amazing !! I Heard V8 too in 2006 and 7 free practice with these famous practice start between the pit wall and the grandstand😮🤯🤪😱
@@philips6182 mostly due to weight distribution of the car. Renault used to have more weight in the rear which made those cars' rear end (2004, 2005, 2006) very stable. It was an understeery car due to this (and other factors) and had an excellent traction, which made these cars incredible in starts.
Wish there was a compilation of all the races in 2005 and 2006 seasons with of course, special emphasis on Alonso, greatest champion ever... Gosh, those two seasons and the machinery in itself is just a worth a lifetime
Alonso has admitted in several interviews that the cars are harder to drive now then they were back then. They had TC, ridiculous Aero, and less "cammy" engines.
Those Renault's in 05 (especially at the start here) were like, "CHEAT MODE: ENGAGE!!" No not really cheating. Just saying because they were so good at the start.
+Eric Ortega well. They were very cheeky. the LC was triggered when it sensed the induction field above the start grid (used to detect jumpstarts) fell away when Charlie pressed the start button. so the reaction was inhumanly fast.
BlaZe iT - Charlie starts start sequence - an electromagnetic field is generated - if a car moves, this field is disturbed, thus a jumpstart has happened - if the red lights go out, this field immediately vanishes - the car has a system that notices this, engages the clutch and activates launch control. All way faster than a human ever could
Yes I noticed that too, how Alonso had to get back on the clutch again and redo his start. But Schumacher and Button really had a terrible start here anyway. Kimi Räikkönen who started behind the two Renaults managed to keep up and overtook Schumacher. Had he just been one more place up he would have had Button also.
As i said look at schumachers car: You can clearly see that his car is moving earlier than Alonso's. Despite that the renault launcher made that better start in the next moment to shit.
2005-2008 Best Championship Years. But from 2009 with the Rule Changes its so boring. Everyone knows who win now. Btw the Renaults fly at the Start away xd
Watching this just proves how good Codemasters is at their F1 games. Probably raced that track more than any of them, could almost sense my braking points. Even the same POV i use in game.
@G0ML3 do u think the 2012 mclaren looks good tho? imo its one of the best lookin ones out there.. plus shes the whole package! good looking and quick!

@mildseven0506 ok, but the car from 2005 season started with that front wing? because i've seen other videos of the same season but the car seems different. Ty for answer btw ;-)
nothing to do with torque per se. It was about the clutch control software and operation. Launch control was banned in 2004 and renault figured out the way to calibrate bite point and control clutch in a way which was most effective in terms of transferring power to the ground without wheelspin. It just took others longer to figure out. Even nowadays you can see kind of evolution of this system. Especially during free practice each team will dedicate fraction of time to practice starts and calibrate the system for conditions on given circuit.
mastadriver Thanks didn't know about that. But yes, torque was a factor too. I remember distinctly Star Sports dedicated a 15 minute program about it back then.
@mildseven0506 actually it will be 1.5 liter v6 turbos from 2014 on... at least a six cylinder sounds way better than a v8, more like the legendary v12s....
This R25 is insane, if the 2005 BAR can do 1/4 miles in 8.6sec then even with a botched start Alonso can do it 1sec faster, and as goes for Fisi with a good start... well this Renault can do 1/4 miles in under 7.5sec
One of the best sounding F1 cars ever!
Anyone else feels like the 2005 Renault is the best looking car ever? I really like the colors.
2005 renault and 2007/08 McLaren. Most beutifull cars ever!!
Star Fail 1998 Mclaren and 2001 Ferrari was epic
Star Fail To me the order looks like this:
1. 1999 McLaren Mercedes
2. 2004 Ferrari
3. 2016 McLaren Honda
4. 1997 Jordan
5. 1957 Ferrari
mp4-20 was the quickest , good looking and fragible car that i ever seen . I wonder if mp4-20 race aganist with f2004 what can be happen ?
I like the Williams FW 23
Those engines sounded absolutely terrifying. Fantastic footage.
I would love to see Fisi's onboard and watch him fly past all 3 of them
MAN MAN MAN, this sound and the speed in comparison to this year WOW just WOW. I want this back. THIS.
ah good old days😞
That Renault has a very distinctive sound!
😆
C y
Assoluta job que sonido
Legit sounds like its barking
Alonso and Raikkonen, probably two of the best drivers i ever saw.
I started watching F1 since 2005 season, LOVED IT!
If you heard the f1 V10 engines in person, you are a very lucky person
+dnyimu98 I only heard the 2.4 V8s in person :(
Yeah same, I've only heard the 2011 Red Bull at a Top Gear event. The downshifts were pretty nice, with the allowance of the blown diffuser back then. Renault's launch controls was spectacular those days.
Launch control was banned in 2004. Renault's way of engineering around that ban was spectacular :)
Right you are, kudos.
how did renault get that good of start without lauch control? It made the mclaren and ferrari look slow
Because... it's Renault, the best.

@@Javiemperator Oh wow, so nice of you... Thanks for the share. Appreciate it
Best Motors in F1 History
nope, 80's V6 Turbo and 90's 3.5L engines were more powerful
+Shogo5000 Powerful is not faster.
Shogo5000 V10 is better
Miss the old F1, the old Mild Seven Renault F1 Team, the old circuits with so much grass and gravel :/
zino zahaf old F1 was manual gearbox to me
The mild seven colour scheme is my favourite livery
what a start by fisichella!!! Alonso shifting is so smooth
the grunt Renault engine had is so distinctive
that merc sound in the McLaren absolute purity !
They're scrapped that and going with turbo V6's, just in case you didn't know :D
this f1 was way more fun than present f1....
Love that sound!!!
Insane start, on first viewing it seems Schumacher gets a much better start, however suddenly the Renault just picks up speed at an alarming rate!
god damn that lauch control on the renault is insane
No launch control in 2005. It was banned after the 2003 season.
what than incredible sound, so epic so nostalgic, so far away in the time....
Button really got Renaulted at the start =)
wow Alonso at the start he starts ok and he stops and starts again¡¡¡what a machine the r25¡¡¡
Holy shit what a star by two renault!!
Renault so damn good in start!!!
3:21 what a brilliant start from fisichella !
Season 2005, 2006, 2007, Ferrari, Honda, McLaren, Renault The very best Championships

That V10 renault engine sounds like a beast
they also have a visual reference point somewhere else and their team can let them know through the radio when to stop.
Holy shit, the Renaults were incredibly fast at the start
The warn up of Alonso was so agressive
03:35 the way Alonso is downshifting as if he would play a musical instrument haha
espectacular sound renault V10
Alonso has admitted in several interviews that the cars are harder to drive now then they were back then. They had TC, ridiculous Aero, and less "cammy" engines.
3:12 For those who not wanna waste time
SmokerFace12 Not a single part of formula 1 video is waste of time for me, especialy old videos such as this. :)
Is not a waste of time watching those !!!
I loved every second of it !
Alonso the best drivers in the world!!
Those Renault's in 05 (especially at the start here) were like, "CHEAT MODE: ENGAGE!!"

+Thomas E Now i get it.
+Eric Ortega It's crazy how fast they were, you even see in the start, Alonso triggers a brief anti-stall, and still passes 2 cars before turn 1!
+Thomas E Can you explain it once again? Didn't really get it
BlaZe iT
- Charlie starts start sequence
- an electromagnetic field is generated

Goosebumps!
fisi was so fast omg
that colour sceme is probably one of the nicest scemes on an f1 car ever
that was the real f1
V10 sound!!
Alonso even anti stalled and STILL got ahead of the Honda and Ferrari. Renault's launches were just unbelievable.
What a start from both renaults, curious that none of them finished the race.
MP4-20 's sound was great !
The best Mclaren car in black and white livery
As i said look at schumachers car: You can clearly see that his car is moving earlier than Alonso's. Despite that the renault launcher made that better start in the next moment to shit.
Damn what a launch!
Oh god, how I love that sound of the pulling V10 when Fernando warms the tyres :o
Fernando Alonso's f1 cars do not need LC. He has them built in himself already.
They ate those two first line cars. Amazing.
Ohh those V10's just the best sound ever
Fisi’s car was jet powered, mega start!
Miss v10 sound
2:28 the last of the F1 v10 Renault engine in Canada.
i like this start very much.
Alonso RENAULT ile Güçlü gerisi hikaye
Even with a bad start, he still passes. And look Fisico. He started 4 and look how quick he was on the start.
Renault had developed one of the best launch control systems ever since '90s. That's why they were very goot at starts.
"goot" you German?
Essa é a verdadeira f 1.
2005-2008 Best Championship Years. But from 2009 with the Rule Changes its so boring. Everyone knows who win now. Btw the Renaults fly at the Start away xd
I think you mean the red bull changes, not rule changes.
No 2009 was Button Championship Winner with Brawn GP. 2009 was KERS integrated and all Teams were equal.
mattin115 In 2009 not all teams had kers..In fact iirc brawn did not have kers.m
mattin115 2010? 2012?
+Marcos Bremermann Alonso should have won those years
What a powerful start they had .... unbelievable ....looks like they had nitrous oxide injected in theirs engines
Best car ever off the line!
Wow that Renault engine is powerful.
oh. so that's how they do it. i've always wondered how they do it eversince i was 5. lol. thanks!
Watching this just proves how good Codemasters is at their F1 games. Probably raced that track more than any of them, could almost sense my braking points. Even the same POV i use in game.
ROFL Codemasters sucks at making racing games, they're unrealistic arcades.

Ocean Ondine 2005 had literally less than half the overtakes of 2017 . And i suggest that if you want to look at girls got to a fashion show .
But what is that button when they start today which they release when they go and the rev lights dont go as usual?
12 years later I can still tell which car is only by hearing the engine's sound.
That merc engine sounds much sweeter :D
The Benetons / Renaults always had tremendous launch control.
Salían como unas balas los Renault

wow, Renault's launch is just like a missle! It seems Honda and Ferrari have no means to resist.

I still believe Renault 2005 uses a hidden launch control system or something like that.

That weight distribution tho
Why they wobble steering while going slow ?
@htblacksmith1 youre studing letter faults ?
why did he go to track instead driving in the pit lane exit?
were they the only team that had launch control?
