Are you sure it was God, and not just a dove that could talk? :) If you believe there can be a God that could talk to you, then you must consider the possibility that some other being might talk through a dove to you.
I cannot honestly say that my destiny is my own making, because for 8 years I was under so much turmoil that I was rendered completely incapable. During those years a few miracles also happened and they were quite big and important. Eventually I had a really soft landing. So, who had carried me all along through the dark valley? Certainly not myself or my power of positive thinking! It has to be God, whatever that word means!
don' think the Rama fable is a good example for what he is trying to say. He's says in his life Rama did not react to anything..but he sounds like he spent a lot of time reacting to his emotions, running after his wife.
