While the weather may be better in July and August the crowds are insane and the prices skyrocket. I would recommend September.

Thank you for the price breakdown. I would have never thought about the U-Haul idea. Nice one.

Just got back from our 2-week Canadian Rockies trip. We are from MN and drove there so we didn't have to pay for flights or rental car. Ended up spending about $3500 USD or $4700 CAD which wasn't bad for how long we were there and all the amazing things we got to see. Stayed in the Drake Inn in Canmore for 6 nights which was nice and very affordable - only $200 / night USD. Also stayed 2 nights in Golden BC when visiting Yoho and 3 nights in Cut Bank MT when visiting Glacier NP in the US. The cost of food was the biggest surprise in Canada, it seemed like everything was about 50% more expensive than the US. Otherwise things weren't that much more expensive than they are in the US. We spent more on shorter trips to California and Washington in the past.

I suggest trying golden and radium hot spring if the accomodations are too expensive in banff and canmore

I’m going on a ski trip to Banff I’m two weeks, and appreciated the tips in the video! I just wanted to comment about the car rental-the prices I saw were about 50-100 dollars per day, 3000 seems crazy, but maybe that’s the case in the summer! We will be using shuttles and free transit to get around the area

Hint ; if it is continuously rainy in the Banff ,Alberta region consider taking in the parks on the B.C. western side of the continental divide, [ Kootney, Yoho National parks , Mqunt Robson and Mount Assinibone provincial parks ] where you will most likely get sunnier weather !
