I needed this program so badly, I have 20 years worth of photos that have been on and off of multiple computers and drives and backup up drives. I have finally built a nas ands want to send a copy of them to it, but not all the dupes that have happened over the years, so a major thanks and a thumbs up

Unfortuantely manually comparing photos to validate isn't gonna help me with the 47.000 childhood photos my mom left me in the most messy way possible. Too risky to lose anything for me when I can't compare the images in the program.
i have about 30k images i would like to manage, about 30pc of them are dupe. Can this help with my problem?

does it work better than the Photos App in Mac OS? (i.e. it merges the duplicates, mixing the meta data and picking the best quality etc.) But you have to do it photo, by photo. - I have 15000 dupes. :(

It does not show a preview image on the "duplicate" or the "original", to be comparing one by one is not pleasant, I do not recommend this tool, it is better one that shows a "preview" because they would be deleting files blindly.
What method does this program use to find duplicates? File size? Creation date? Pixel size?
is this image based or hash based? I already cleaned by hash, now I need by image visual similarities

A very scant review IMO. No mention of referencing the percentage match value returned before trusting its evaluation, nor any mention of the posibility of including subdirectories or scanning multiple directory locations or multiple drive locations in one comparitive trawl. Qui5te a bit more to be considered here I feel. 😐

Wasted four days on this stupid thing unless you get your pictures, all pretty and put it in one folder (without having too many pictures) it’ll work, but if you’re trying to search a drive with all the pictures in it and stuff will not work. It is just frustrating.

I don't think diff alone can do this, but I know there's commands like rdfind and fdupe that can do this (although I haven't explored them yet)

You have great content. Can you do a video that explains why MySQL on windows becomes damaged from time to time? And how to repair it? I use XAMPP (for the PHP server) on windows. And I always start the MySQL server along with Apache. On two windows PCs I get a message that says MySQL shutdown unexpectedly.
Downloaded it. Didn't rate the product. There's better ones out there for free.
Hi, are you aware that of any software (free or not) that can match similar images but not 100% the same?
Something more advanced that just finding the exact same image.
Not sure if the myself clear, imagine take multiple images in a room at different time, diferent location, camera.
The photos are =/- the same but they aren't...

@@TheJwwinter hi, thanks for the reply. I might have tried it already with no success. By "might" I mean I've tried loads of softwares that I can't remember their names and none was capable of matching pictures.
With AI maybe that will be possible in the future.
@@SERGIO-cr6uy That and Duplicate Cleaner Pro, both have the image preview feature, I still go through the previews before deleting. It's better than nothing though.

Great information and I have used other methods that did not get results also works with OneDrive too.
Plus DupeGuru is featured in a British IT magazine Called Computer Active issue 649 dated 18-31 Jan 23 page 53 and they recommended it
