The B sides off of their Japanese albums are absolutely some of my fav NCT songs. I listen to End to Start (off of Awaken) at least once a week. It's so beautiful and I just love that whole album so much.
I know for a fact that Doyoung tried hard to learn more japanese so Yuta had a friend he could talk to in his nature language! I know they’re all fairly good in japanese, some more fluent than others, but even the non fluent members are able to hold a conversation in japanese! I’d give more props to Doyoung and Taeyong tho, they seem to be pretty comfortable with it 💕 thank you for reacting to them 💖 our baby Yuta is the one with blue hair and scorpio sign drawn on his face in the gimme gimme mv, he’s finally going home (Osaka) after years and 127 is gonna perform in domes, including Tokyo Dome 💚 beyond happy for him! Besides being the japanese member (and first japanese trainee to debut under SM), Yuta is just the sweetest and funniest guy you’ll ever come across, also the talent (dancing, singing and even rapping) is beyond words! Doyoung is always reposting Yuta’s stories in Japanese and replying in Japanese too. And even some recent jokes in which they make it clear Doyoung is mostly fluent! I know both do care about Yuta and try their best tho, so really, more to the point, they’re both the best 💕💕

Pretty much everyone agrees that Limitless jp vrs is better than the kr vrs. 💚 Chain is such a good song, but I cant have it on my playlist cause my brain cant handle all the sounds while Im doing something else. 💚 Small fact: Haechan was recovering from a leg injury for wakey wakey and was unable to dance. 💚 Gimme Gimme is my favourite of the jp tracks. It's so catchy. 💚 I am curious to if Yuta stood out more because of his pronounciation or if they all did so well that it was impossible to spot him?
Since Yuta is Japanese, maybe he made sure their pronunciation was good. They are very thorough and detailed artists, so Yuta being there checking everything is quite posible.
I’ve always thought Limitless is so underrated, tho I admit the styling wasn’t great so when the Japanese version came out it was perfect! Gimme gimme is hands down one of 127’s best songs in my opinion

i'm sure someone mentioned this already but there are actually japanese members of nct! plus a lot of idols (especially international-focused idols) have a lot of activities in japan so often some members make an attempt at learning japanese or at least some useful phrases! like taemin!
This is a safe space, we can say that the Limitless kr styling is unfortunate to say the least. Also, most of the nonsensical english in SM's songs can be all attributed to one korean writer despite SM holding writing camps internationally. They don't seem to have a similar "problem" with their japanese or mandarin lyrics. Chain, Wakey Wakey, and Gimme Gimme were written by MEG.ME.
You could say I was lucky that I clicked on the Japanese version for "Limitless" first when I started learning about NCT and loved it... Thereby I was _scared_ to click on the Korean version after reading the comments ^-^;;;

Before Gimme Gimme was released, my absolute favorite was Chain. Their concert/live version of Chain is absolute perfection. And then Gimme Gimme came…..And now I can’t choose.
At the beginning of Chain you had this look on your face and then said "ok this is very... experimental" and that is the NCT 127 mood right there xD Can't confirm, but I bet Yuta corrects them if they're wrong

Yuta (127 member who's Japanese) said he used to help the members with their pronunciation and such. Apparently he misses that because they didn't need much help on their last Japanese album (Loveholic) 😄 ETA: I think you'd like the rest of the songs on the Japanese albums, especially Loveholic (the album Gimme Gimme is on), they're pretty great. I think Chica Bom Bom or Lipstick are my faves off Loveholic.
Thank you for your reaction (^^) YUTA ever said in his own Japanese Radio Segment "YUTA at Home" that he helped a lot 127 members during Chain era (2018), especially in singing and pronouncing Japanese vocabulary. Anyway Chain's concept is "From Seoul to Tokyo and to the world". I love it. Beside the Japanese title track, I love the b-side songs like First Love, Long Slow Distance, Touch Japanese Ver. etc =D
I didn't scroll very far, just a few panels down, but an interesting fact about "Chain" -- you'll notice the members have writing on their necks and faces saying "From Seoul" and "To Tokyo". Everyone that has "Seoul" is native Korean. Everyone with "Tokyo" came from outside of Korea.
I think there are a few reasons for their good pronunciation: 1. Their whole concept is going international (from Soeul to the world), so they focus on learning the customs and language of the places they are going to have albums or concerts 2. They have a well loved Japanese member in Yuta (now 2, including Shotaro), so they practice with him regularly
Most of 127 could probably hold a conversation in Japanese, Taeyong & Doyoung are very good & Yuta is (obviously) fluent 127's Japanese title tracks are always very intense Most people love the Japanese ver MV more, Mark actually stood in that cloud of smoke lol Chain is my 2nd fave 127 song & the MV is just ~visuals~ No ones ever ready for Taeyong's 2nd verse rap 😆 Wakey Wakey Jaehyun is next level (Wakey Wakey stage Taeyong is also VERY rude) Taeil was the high note in Gimme Gimme (& most 127 songs) he's such a powerhouse vocalist & has a huge range I'd highly recommend the recording session for Gimme Gimme: th-cam.com/video/D-UMfH6lesM/w-d-xo.html as it shows the vocal range & some intricacies in the song & pronunciation things(they also have videos for Frist Love & ChicaBomBom) Basically 127 has japanese allbums/versions, Dream has chinese versions & WayV has english versions
I don't know the Korean lyrics to Limitless, but maybe because I speak Japanese? I really love the Japanese version. The lyrics are such perfection. The way they present the concept of coming out of a personal darkness into the light to join with the world to become one is so well done. And the part that says, keep going towards/ pursuing the light and, the shadow dancing in the darkness gives such a feeling of hope. "Kono koe ga, kono uta ga, hibikiau kono sekai de, bokura wa hitotsu ni naru..." It just hits hard 🥺 Thank you for the reaction!

Chain is that song for me!! Sounds amazing on speakers 🔊 LOVEHOLIC Mini Album as a whole is 🔥. I recommend it!!! All 5 songs are great. Lipstick and Chica Bom Bom are those songs you listen to as you get ready before heading to the club lol.
For me.. i love gimme gimme, the choreo also the best. Chain also excellent because of Duo rapper TY Mark and the choreo. You should check their sexy song Lipstick 😋

If you are interested: the japanese bsides are my absolute favorite bsides of the entire nct127 discography. So i would really recommend lips, right know and end to start (more melow songs). Definitely listen to end to start. The more agressive songs that i also love are lipstick, chica bom bom, blow my mind, kitchen beat.
Gimmie Gimmie is honestly one of my fave songs out of all NCT songs. It's just 😘🤌 And too me for some unknown reason the クラクラ and フラフラ parts sounds so cute idkw but I love it 😆😂
I love Chain and when I saw NCT127 live I was a bit disappointed that they sang the Korean version, it sounded so strange. I’m pretty sure everyone sang along in the Japanese lyrics since it’s the version that came out first.

Also, most of the nonsensical english in SM's songs can be all attributed to one korean writer despite SM holding writing camps internationally. They don't seem to have a similar "problem" with their japanese or mandarin lyrics. Chain, Wakey Wakey, and Gimme Gimme were written by MEG.ME.

i really love their japanese releases! i would say it’s a fundamental part of the “nct noise” sound, experimental and eye-opening in a different way to their korean releases ^^ if you’re looking for where to go from here, i recommend looking into their recording booth behinds for the loveholic ep! gimme gimme, first love, and chica bom bom :) they have tons more recording behinds hahaha but those in particular are my favorite to watch ^^ thank you for the reactions, take care!

Yuta (127 member who's Japanese) said he used to help the members with their pronunciation and such. Apparently he misses that because they didn't need much help on their last Japanese album (Loveholic) 😄
ETA: I think you'd like the rest of the songs on the Japanese albums, especially Loveholic (the album Gimme Gimme is on), they're pretty great. I think Chica Bom Bom or Lipstick are my faves off Loveholic.

YUTA ever said in his own Japanese Radio Segment "YUTA at Home" that he helped a lot 127 members during Chain era (2018), especially in singing and pronouncing Japanese vocabulary. Anyway Chain's concept is "From Seoul to Tokyo and to the world". I love it. Beside the Japanese title track, I love the b-side songs like First Love, Long Slow Distance, Touch Japanese Ver. etc =D
I didn't scroll very far, just a few panels down, but an interesting fact about "Chain" -- you'll notice the members have writing on their necks and faces saying "From Seoul" and "To Tokyo". Everyone that has "Seoul" is native Korean. Everyone with "Tokyo" came from outside of Korea.

I think there are a few reasons for their good pronunciation:
1. Their whole concept is going international (from Soeul to the world), so they focus on learning the customs and language of the places they are going to have albums or concerts
2. They have a well loved Japanese member in Yuta (now 2, including Shotaro), so they practice with him regularly

Most of 127 could probably hold a conversation in Japanese, Taeyong & Doyoung are very good & Yuta is (obviously) fluent
127's Japanese title tracks are always very intense
Most people love the Japanese ver MV more, Mark actually stood in that cloud of smoke lol
Chain is my 2nd fave 127 song & the MV is just ~visuals~ No ones ever ready for Taeyong's 2nd verse rap 😆
Wakey Wakey Jaehyun is next level (Wakey Wakey stage Taeyong is also VERY rude)
Taeil was the high note in Gimme Gimme (& most 127 songs) he's such a powerhouse vocalist & has a huge range

I don't know the Korean lyrics to Limitless, but maybe because I speak Japanese? I really love the Japanese version. The lyrics are such perfection. The way they present the concept of coming out of a personal darkness into the light to join with the world to become one is so well done. And the part that says, keep going towards/ pursuing the light and, the shadow dancing in the darkness gives such a feeling of hope. "Kono koe ga, kono uta ga, hibikiau kono sekai de, bokura wa hitotsu ni naru..." It just hits hard 🥺

If you are interested: the japanese bsides are my absolute favorite bsides of the entire nct127 discography. So i would really recommend lips, right know and end to start (more melow songs). Definitely listen to end to start. The more agressive songs that i also love are lipstick, chica bom bom, blow my mind, kitchen beat.

I love Chain and when I saw NCT127 live I was a bit disappointed that they sang the Korean version, it sounded so strange. I’m pretty sure everyone sang along in the Japanese lyrics since it’s the version that came out first.
