I fucking loved 2013-14 Auburn. I'm a New York lifer and NFL fan with Buckeye family; and I couldn't get enough of Malzahn's offense. I downloaded those games and rewatch every 3 years, its been a decade and Ive sat thru TAMU, GA 3 times and Kick 6 4 times. So good. Smashmouth spread is a rarity when it ruled In 2013, Ohio, Oregon, Baylor ran it but Auburn majored in it.
He failed to recruit the right players for it. He recruited many very athletic QB's after Marshall, but they were all busts. JF3, Woody Barrett, Gatewood, etc. He recruiting Willis, but he wasn't able to start over Stidham or Nix, and rightfully so. He really didn't do a good job recruiting offensive players period. If you look at Auburn players currently in the NFL, it's mostly defensive players. Not too many offensive players.
