Since you already reacted to this song with this less than stellar quality we know you won’t do the same again, but treat yourself to a listen to the Waiting for Columbus track of this song. The whole album is worth a listen. One of the best live albums ever. ✌️
It's a hard thing you do man, trying to keep so many people happy, and you're killing it. I really like the idea that you want these flash picks to be for the basic yt subscribers. I'll still vote but I won't do any noms going forward. I'm already getting the very generous monthly picks. Thanks... and take a day off once in a while. We won't disappear on you.
I love this band and I love this song. This is probably not the best live version. Check out the studio version and the best live version is on the “Waiting For Columbus” album. By the way, the Waiting For Columbus album is the best live album ever!
Little Feat (with Lowell George) was one of the top concerts I ever attended. "The Old Lady on Brady" concert venue in Tulsa Dec 4, 75 (an old historic brick theater). Some of the songs they did twice When they finished a song, it was but a few seconds and Lowell would start up on another. It may have been played earlier already but that was OK. Nobody wanted to leave. We really got our money's worth. I have a feeling Lowell and the band were really up on coke, but their performance was flawless. Played for 2 1/2 hours. I was sober, I had a final the next day.
I'm originally from Tulsa, (35 years) and saw many concerts there up until 1988 when I left OK. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see Little Feat there. Awesome you did!❤
Back in 1978 I got to see Little Feat with Lowell George and of the over 500 shows I have seen, that concert still rates in the Top Five shows ever. Seen Feat about ten times since and it is always great, but Lowell added something special. This version of "Spanish Moon" is good, but the audio quality on the "Waiting For Columbus" live album is MUCH better. Thanks Michael K. for the request.
Lowell's son Forrest is a FB friend. He's going through some health issues, and I really hope he can see his dad in the HOF someday. It's a travesty they aren't already.
The production quality on the studio version is unbelievable. They just recently released an animated video with a live version that sounds immaculate. This performance is great to see, but is sounds like I’m on telephone hold.
Reviews praised the Tulsa Show as a standout performance. An audience recording captured all the raw energy and musical prowess of Little Feat. Fans praised the concert's sound quality and Little Feat's tight performance. I never saw a better non-Beatle related concert. The band was really on their game that night. It's on TH-cam (audio only) "Little Feat - Live at Brady Theater, Tulsa Ok." (well, they recorded a little over 90 minutes of this show)" "Excellent audience recording" a reviewer wrote. (especially for 1975!)
Loved the lyric from the Little Feat song "On Your Way Down" "The same people you misuse on your way up, You might meet up on your way down." Yes, Lowell George stole playwright Wilson Misner's line (just changing the first few words from "Be nice to People.....") But it's still a great song.
Ahhhh, love this band! This version has an audio problem, but the band is immaculate. Saw them four times live 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, and every concert was off-the-charts spectacular, with and without Lowell George.
😢 The live recordings were never that hot. Somewhat muffled , but the albums were always stellar in sound quality. Feats don't fail me now is a awesome album. Especially the song "Skin it back"
Great to see this again. (It was in August 1977). I was lucky enough to be there for this and all of their other Rainbow concerts that year. It's a shame Kenny Gradney's bass is so low in the mix.
And the line from the song "Two Trains" "Well, there's two trains running on that line. One train's me and the other's a friend of mine." What a great metaphor of two guys seeing the same girl.
Just learned an interesting factoid. Lowell George sometimes worked with a Martin Kibbee (aka Fred Martin) and they published as (George/Martin) a Beatle's reference. Also, the name Little Feat is also an homage to the Fab Four spelling Feet with an A like The Beatles did with their name.
LOWELL GEORGE was a vocal genius . Two great studio records (feet’s don’t fail me now and Dixie Chicken ) plus waiting for Columbus are among the best southern rock ever made
Finally! The previous Little Feat videos you did were some of their worst. They are incredible live, have seen them countless times. My youngest was enthralled with Richie Hayward, yes we took our kids to see them. She only had eyes for Richie 😍
My mom got a backstage pass to a Little Feat concert once. She said that Bill Payne (the piano/keyboard guy) still had really bad stage fright at that point, several years into their career. I've been fortunate enough to see them live twice (long after Lowell George's death, but still). The superior version of "Fat Man in the Bathtub," as with a lot of their stuff, is off Waiting For Columbus. (Also try the combo punch of "Dixie Chicken" and "Tripe Face Boogie" from the same album. It's fifteen minutes of greatness.)
To bad the sound quality wasn't as good as it could've been, I'd say you can't go wrong with waiting for Columbus. You might actually have heard willin before
Oh lets not forget Feats don't Fail me Now which had Marilyn Monroe and George Washington sitting close driving in a 1946 sedan on a mountain road Parks also did Weasels Ripped My Flesh for Frank Zappa, as well as covers and graphics for David Bowie, Dr. John, and the Beach Boys. Illustrations for Playboy, National Lampoon. He has a very recognizable style.
Brother Lee, if you can , could you please a redo on this one? This audio was all treble, like a small transistor radio on AM , CHANNEL..😂...Man I ain't hating, but missing so much sound.. Bass , percussion, brass, drums ....deserve the separation. So , if you could, if you would, please react to , Waiting for Columbus, live recording? As usual, ✌️😎❤️
All of their album covers back in the day were painted by an artist named Neon Parks. Womens Lib probably hated him as most covers depicted women as a sexualized common object. Like "Sailin Shoes" a women was a cake with shapely legs with a slice cut out. Waiting for Columbus was a Tomato as a woman in a hammock, Down on the far a woman was a duck lounging by a pool. The last record album had no woman just Hollywood as an ghost town with the Hollywood hills as a Molded Jello with whip cream on top, Great cause they were actual paintings
Saw the same tour. Lae 70's 80's they were hiNotvfeek l it nutbthe boys waswaybboss. This verzion ssen..ljkenlowell wasway f##cked upndudep tight a outta sight .Waiting for plum us tour . You n might
Unfortunately, Lowell was a victim of addiction He focused on Cocaine, Booze and Pizza It caused him to gain a lot of weight before he died. I hear the day he passed, beside the booze he polished off three Pizzas. He was a slide guitar god who taught Bonnie Rait a few tricks and an extremely talented man with words. He had a good heart for others, just not himself.
This is the horn section for Tower of Power horn section, another band you should check out.
Waiting for Columbus, considered in the top ten best Live recordings , consistently for over forty years. ❤
Since you already reacted to this song with this less than stellar quality we know you won’t do the same again, but treat yourself to a listen to the Waiting for Columbus track of this song. The whole album is worth a listen. One of the best live albums ever. ✌️
Nah, nah, nah, you need the live version of this from the live album "Waiting For Columbus!" 🔥🔥🔥
The Waiting For Columbus album is fire!
My favorite rock drummer, Richie Hayward (RIP).
Little Feat. Genius.
Neon Park also designed the album cover that Lowell George played on with Frank Zappa Weasels Ripped My Flesh
The horn section is the Tower Of Power horns.
Waiting for Columbus
best live album out there
Great album. We had them all
Dude, this was a musicians favorite band back in the day, Bill Payne on keys, Sam Clayton on congas....never disrespect the FEAT!

I’ve see the Feat maybe 20 times starting in 71. Never failed to deliver. There’s a reason they were musicians (Zep,stones etc…) favorite band.

That is a fact. Hope Forrest is feeling better soon.

bill payne, roy estrada, lowell george were all in early zappa mothers stuff.
Check out these songs by Feats:
On your way down
Skin it back
Fat man in the bathtub
THIS band, THOSE horns, THAT guy...thx for this. Nice and greasy....I want a cigarette.
Need to check out "Two Trains" by them next, slide guitar is fire.
Love the best! I remember this band name but never listened intentionally. So many other amazing talents competing. Now is the time.
Trust me bro, Little Feat concerts were a huge party!
Ahhhh, love this band! This version has an audio problem, but the band is immaculate. Saw them four times live 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, and every concert was off-the-charts spectacular, with and without Lowell George.
disappointed in the audio quality of this. Little Feat on the live album Waiting for Columbus, really shine.
really is terrible. waiting for columbus blows this away.

Never seen this video. Good one.

He was fun to watch.
Tower of Power horn section.
That was awesome ... love it
Great band!!!! You should do "Willin' " and make it a 2fer with the Linda Rondstat cover of it!!!!!
My mom got a backstage pass to a Little Feat concert once. She said that Bill Payne (the piano/keyboard guy) still had really bad stage fright at that point, several years into their career. I've been fortunate enough to see them live twice (long after Lowell George's death, but still).

Allman Bros, Little Feat, Amazing Rhythm Aces... The beginnings of Americana in the 70s
Try "Easy To Slip"
If I'm not mistaken, the brass section is the guys from Tower of Power.
You outta hear the version from "Waiting for Columbus".
To bad the sound quality wasn't as good as it could've been, I'd say you can't go wrong with waiting for Columbus. You might actually have heard willin before
Waiting for Columbus - Little Feat live album, better than their studio, Great album
For a totally different side of this band try the song Day at the Dog Races from the album Time Loves a Hero it's jazz fusion at its finest.
And basically, all of the Little Feat album covers. They even used some of his existing artwork after he had passed.
@@neonpark1874 Computer says parks didn;t do their first album it was painted by LA FIne Arts

The band famous not so much for what they play but how much they leave out! Few bands tighter

The best version of this is on Waiting for Columbus Live!
The studio version kinda sucks.
Studio version is better
