    NGL kinda genius and super logical tbh. Tho im scared it might even cause some of the nails in the floorboards to come loose and u might get squeaky floors some day

      when that day comes you fix it, worrying over the future always make your present miserable.

      Yeah… I struggle with how to effectively demonstrate how the wall and floor sound on TH-cam… it just doesn’t translate well, which is largely why I didn’t don’t spend much time (or any) illustrating it.
      Perhaps a better recording setup would help, but still then, most everyone is listening from their cell phones, which again doesn’t translate to good sound…

      Put candles in the room at different points, make sure no draughts obviously... as you cannot achieve audio representation try and make it visual.....glass of water etc

    Wait a minute. Wouldn't you want those floor drivers to be mounted securely to the JOISTS? NOT up against the floor? You want to modulate the whole floor unless I misunderstand. So the tape thing might insulate the driver from the joist. Just speculation. You're right about the vibration driver to floor. I'm thinking you'll get noise from that..and not a good kind.

      Dennis, The hose clamps are in fact connected to the floor joists, and only the floor joists. I have since slid the shakers in the clamps so that they do not touch the bottom of the floor at all, to avoid any potential unwanted noise. This way, they do modulate the entire floor like you suspect... quite aggressively.

    Now let's put those on a simulator rig. 😊 Wouldn't a old receiver work if your using a sub out. Then use that to set your volume.

      You are right. an old receiver would work perfectly for this application.

    Are there any other installation options for using bass shakers in a home that you do not have access to the underside of the floor?

      Not yet… but I live the results so much, I will likely do it again. I am planning a traditional installation of bass shakers into my couch again very soon… but this time as part of a headphone setup… I’m looking forward to it.

    Hey Fellow Canadian - what shipping option do you find the most cost effective? I’m worried about buying a $30 part and ending up paying 2-3X that in shipping & brokering & duty fees.

    • @consumertechcheck
      @consumertechcheck  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately Parts express packages almost always get duty charges… I haven’t figured out a way to dodge that. Other then… I have a PO Box in Sumas Washington a tiny boarder town 10 minutes from my Canadian boarder town. I often send packages there and drive across the boarder to pick things up. This often avoids duty, depending g on the boarder guard you get on the way back.

      @@lo_fye I live 9 minutes from the US border. I have it shipped to a parcel service just across the border and pick it up there. They charge $4 per package. The border guards most often don’t charge duty when driving items back. When they ask “what are you bringing back?” I tell them … they don’t seem to care as long as the value isn’t too high per trip.
