Love the review. Watched loads on the 1260,this is one of the better ones 👍. I bought my 1260s in February. Done about 4500 miles now including a 4 day trip to the lake district. The way you react, laughing and giggling, is how I still react now 😁. I've had it described as "biking reinvented",got to agree. Comfy on wide open roads, and turns into a big supermoto on the twisty B roads.
Love your enthusiasm brother - certainly makes me want one! I'm really happy with my R1200GSA but I do wish it had a bit more grunt and rush thru the mid range... Thanks so much for really nice review!
Great video. Over here in the Northeast US, my multi is in storage for the winter. Videos like this are like little love letters as I wait for spring. I came off a Tracer 900 by way of a longer-term Triumph Street Triple when buying my 1260S. I was amazed at the feeling of nimbleness and confidence I got from the multi. Due to the magic suspension and smooth, massive, grunty power, I feel surprisingly more confident throwing the thing around at speed than I ever did even with the STR. It just chews up all sorts of roads (hence the namesake) with that suspension, cornering abs and traction control. I hit a decent little rock with my front tire cornering at about 50mph at one point and the bike just cut power a little bit, stood up a touch and got right back to work. Not even a wiggle. Bloody amazing. But look it's stupid expensive. I went for it because I've done well for myself, motorcycling is my favorite thing on this earth and no bike out there matches the Multistrada's stylish capability. It's much more affordable than a Porsche and you can really use the hell out of it. But there are many more affordable bikes that will get the job done too, like the Tracer 900. This one just happens to be better at everything. Except the quickskifter. If I'm flying above 100mph on hard acceleration and try to quickshift between 5th and 6th the gearbox sometimes slips out. Also 1st to 2nd can feel a bit jerkey, as the bike wants me to be revved higher than I like to be in 1st. But that's less of an issue since I went up 3 teeth in the back. God I miss her.
Pure passion on two wheels, IMO the most striking looks and overall the best, most passionate motorbike ever produced in human history. Nice review. I really like this bike, have ridden one for an hour but found that the heat generated by the engine under the seat was just too unbearable. I live in Australia and that heat in summer is just too much. In winter it would make a great seat heater though. The other problems i experienced on the demo model was an intermittent quick shifter and lots of vibes in the dash and mirrors at lower rpm. Other than that it was great and the sound was amazing. The twins simply sound the best and as you noticed midrange pull is brilliant...
