Wow! Thanks!! Lots of memories. Surprised it still looks almost the same after all these years! Lived in Houston from 1984 to 1998 (always along Westheimer -- near downtown to way out west.) Was unlucky enough to be visiting Houston to see old friends on 9/11 and got stuck as all flights got cancelled...
I was there in October on a sunny day, and the Uptown Galleria area looked really incredible, especially all the high rises. Thanks for the nice video.
We are going to be visiting Houston for about a week soon. I’m trying to figure out if the downtown Houston or the galleria area is better or has more things to do/convenience for 2 adults
I hope you have a great trip to Houston! If you want to be able to go shopping or out to eat try the Galleria area. Downtown itself doesn't have a lot of things open after work hours, but would be centrally located if you want to have access to the Museum District / Hermann Park / Rice Villages as well as being able get to fun neighborhoods with lots of nightlife like Montrose, Washington Avenue, or the Heights.

Is traffic always that bad on Westheimer in Uptown?
Yes, and sometimes even worse.
