OMG That ice skating rink right in the middle of a 3 story mall!!! I am in a small town in Alabama and I would love to see this in person!! I am amazed.
Had a chance to visit this mall last year and I enjoyed it very much. Will be in Houston in four days and will probably go to the Galleria again. I also want to see Memorial City mall.
A marvellous mall. Much bigger than any of ours. The thing I really enjoy about malls is that they are fabulous for walking around in on rainy or stinking hot days when you want to walk but the weather makes it uncomfortable to do so! I was hoping you would run into Autumn Beckman. Maybe on your next visit!
That's the 1st mall I went to as a child. It's huge. Impressive for sure. And true, cheesecake factory is not fine dining. It's like a Dennys a couple steps up. If that.
In the 80's and 90's it was very upscale and special compared to the other suburban malls in the area. Now it's totally disgusting. Auto thefts, parking garage muggings, and gang beefs. The have-nots go there to flex, fight, and flirt. It has taken on the new name of "The Ghettoria" and you couldn't pay me to go there. Just watch some of these videos and see what I'm talking about.
Years ago i bought a 2 pairs of copper earrings there. But I remember it was the first floor of the galleria. I just dont remember the store. I wish I could remember what stores where there from 1999 to 2001
Why is Houston’s galleria so dead? I remember going back there like in 2000 and that place used to be jam pack me and my brother used to go to the cheesecake factory and watch the people skate and fall on their ass lol 😂 but I have never seen the Galleria be just emptying my life. Wow.
Now it’s definitely still full. At least kind of. I just visited there for the first time and couldn’t even find parking to get in😭 he may have just went on a slow day
As a native Houstonian tht have been to the galleria countless of times its never this empty so either he’s gotten there right when the doors first opened or alot of the stores have closed and the mall itself is abt to as well those are they only two reasons the galleria would be this empty otherwise its always jammed packed w/ visitors && celebrities Shaquille O’Neal was just there and they closed off the shoe store he was in and guarded the doors w/ Houston police!!!!
I used to go ice-skating there back in 1978 to 81. The place was always packed. I remember watching them build the Galleria. It opened in 1970.
WOW when the last tiem you visited
@@richluxshopping 2000! 23 years ago. But I still drive past it Mon thru Fri. twice a day.

Havent been to any mall in forever but it looks as expected. Mall walkers but no one shopping,
very few in any case. Thx Rich, lysm.
If “no one is shopping” why are businesses making profits ❓
This place has always been popular for decades..

I believe the other Christian Dior in Houston (in nearby River Oaks District) is the store that is/was the second biggest Dior store in USA

Cheesecake factory is nothing fancy but it's a good restaurant. I would put way above Denny's

Why does everyone say that. They say that about everything sports, politics, religion, food people. It used to be ABC now its Xyz.
Same with the Dallas Galleria
Sounds like Lenox Square here in Atlanta.... they had to put up metal detectors and a precinct out here to stop the madness.
I think I went once when my sister lived in Houston. This mall is thriving while my local dinkey mall has ten stores already closed and empty.
I just shared your video with a friend. He checks out mall, but he has never checked out this one.
