      It’s funny seeing American sports finally getting exposed to the shit we’ve had to put up with in football. We’ve had multiple players banned for 8-10 months for betting on matches, only for them to come back and play on the tv channels sponsored by betting companies, and wearing kits sponsored by betting companies😂

      This is in every sport. We saw it already in the English premier league, the NFL, MLB, NBA and I’m almost 100% sure it’s in the NCAA. Athletes in these other leagues just haven't been caught yet. In terms of the NHL we know they do a terrible job of investigating their players and coaches so it’s likely going on there too.

    A way to stop this is that prop bets under should only be processed if the player at least plays in the first quarter, and in the last quarter. Otherwise, it should be a push.
    The strangest thing about this is that Jontay was showing himself to be a legit player. Like his brother, he worked hard rehabbing his injuries for the last few years, and was starting to really blossom. A 6' 10" guy who can defend and shoot the 3 could potentially make a lot of money over the course of his career. So he really was betting the under ... on his entire career!

    Not sure what was going through Jontay's head, he seems like a smart guy.
    He spent all those years rehabbing in Denver. If anybody watched Jontay play it was clear as day that he belongs on an NBA roster and that he had potential. A stretch 4 who can defend, shoot the ball, pass and overall plays the game the right way. We aren't talking about a fringe NBA player who we don't know whether he belongs in the G-League or an overseas roster. I would expect a player like that to do this type of stuff.
    But the way Jontay was playing I have no doubt that if not the Raptors, another team would have offered him a contract worth millions. And if he continued to improve he would see a bigger pay day.
    If he's guilty, it seems like he was trying to be greedy and thought himself way too smart for actuaries and the guys in Vegas whose job is to snuff out these kind of things.

    Yeah they’re all sponsored by a sport betting group and because someone doesn’t hit their line and people go under on them now it’s a problem. Yeah it’s all a scam so because they’re losing money now they’re crying about something yet. There’s a lot of stuff going on in the NBA or people are going under on their lines when they shouldn’t be Yet they lost money on someone and now they’re gonna say he’s cheating

    I don't think it would necessarily be a lifetime ban. All of the league's seem to handle these things about the same way and the NFL gave Calvin Ridley a one-year suspension. I think that was for just betting on football and perhaps he didn't bet on himself so that could definitely make it a more severe penalty but I think maybe 2 years then.

    • @kingdeedee
      @kingdeedee 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The important thing though is that the NFL stated they found no games were compromised and that there was no evidence Ridley benefitted off of insider info. If Porter is found guilty, it’s a COMPLETELY different scenario because the allegations against him say he’s doing all of that. A lifetime ban + additional legal action by the NBA would not be surprising in the least

    • @BigBoyToys-ce5qg
      @BigBoyToys-ce5qg 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I see one more person compare this to Calvin Ridley....
      This isn't even remotely comparable to Ridley, for a multitude of reasons. Not even slightly similar in any way. This is exponentially worse. I would be shocked if he doesnt get a lifetime ban.

    • @kingdeedee
      @kingdeedee 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BigBoyToys-ce5qg I don't know why people keep saying it. Ridley wasn't found to actually be compromising games hence why he only got a 1 year ban. The evidence in Porter's case is saying he did exactly that. Porter could easily face a lifetime ban + legal prosecution from the NBA and the betting sites he used

    Why would he not be on he roster much longer? Ja is still on the Grizzlies after waving a gun around. Josh is still on the Thunder after sleeping with underage girls. Now we're gonna castrate a guy for gambling? In a league we're gambling is heavily promoted?

    • @justinholland6132
      @justinholland6132 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Ja is a superstar, the girl who was underage stopped showing up the court. It’s illegal to bet on urself. Having a gun isn’t illegal and it was a year ago

    • @BigBoyToys-ce5qg
      @BigBoyToys-ce5qg 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Are you seriously this dense? Jfc...
      It should take maybe 5 seconds of critical thinking to easily understand why and how this is completely different than the things you named, which have no effect on the integrity of the league and the games themselves And yet...

      Match fixing is a lifetime ban in other sports. It's the lowest of the low and can ruin the entire sport if unpunished

    • @matthewford3778
      @matthewford3778 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Josh was sleeping with a underage girl on purpose. The girl lied about her age after meeting Josh in a club which usually is a 18+ or 21+ age venue. Also it’s not girls as it’s only one girl. You making this mistake just makes it worse with victims. Blaming people when they didn’t do anything wrong it’s crazy

      This is the equivalent of stock manipulation. He literally manipulated his game to make sure the bets hit, affecting the game. The other examples have nothing to do with being on the court and affecting games and outcome.
